Not sure of the actual RPMs since I am always looking at traffic and not my Tach, but I would say mid 1000's as a guess.
The trick to getting the car rolling is to give it enough gas to keep the car from stalling, but not so much that the car takes off on you. After you get used to it, try not to slip the clutch to much (because you will while you are learning). Good luck, and it isn't that difficult just takes a little bit of practice. My first car was a lot harder than this to learn on and I figured it out without ever having to replace the clutch down the road.

I decided to take a quick trip to give you more info. I looked at the tach as I took off and it was consistantly around 1200 rpm.

I think he is referring to a launch for best off the line acceleration, not regular day to day driving....

For a fast launch, you probably want to be more like in the 4000 rpms and let go off the clutch pretty quickly--but not to the extent that you dump it. That said you don't want to ride the clutch either. Somewhere in between dumping and riding it. You should get "some" wheel spin, but not too much. If you get too much wheel spin you need to back off the gas a little. It's okay/desirable to get some wheel spin as long as the tires grab on pretty quickly. Don't do this too often or you'll wear off your clutch prematurely however well you execute it.

i found anything over 3500 is too much wheel spin. i need to get the right amount of clutch too. i tried launching at 5500 when racing with 2 M6's on saturday. had a better launch than both, but the 3 of us had ridiculous wheel spin. (fwiw i beat both, but i think if i were driving either i would have easily beat my m3)

I attached the Data Sheet from their website. Good luck, and let me know how it works out.

The .pdf file says "6-speed manual", so I don't think it's a DCT car.

MDM keeps things nicely under control, but if you want the fastest launch possible and can handle the throttle yourself, you want DSC off. It makes a major difference.

For a regular "launch" it should be well below 1000rpm. You don't need much to get the car going unless you're on a hill. Too much will shorten the life of the clutch. A good fast launch is somewhere between 3000 and 3500. It's hard to keep the wheels from spinning free, though.
