Public Service Announcement:
Maybe everyone but me already knew this... It might not be your suspension... My DTC-60 pads were getting thin, so I decided to install my StopTech SR34 (front ST-60) and my SR32 (rear OEM) pads for Laguna last Sunday. When I received the box of rear pads (3 months ago), the first thing I noticed was how small the box was, compared to all of the rear pad boxes I've had. When I opened the box I noticed that the inboard pads didn't have the sheet metal tabs? Called Dave Zeckhausen and he assured me this was on purpose, so I never gave it another thought. Fast forward to last Monday evening. I go thru my usual pre track process. Install track pads. Set front camber to -3.0 degrees. Bleed the calipers. Check fluids, belts, hoses. Didn't drive the car until the following Thursday evening. Every little bump in the road caused a noise at the rear of the car. I thought it might be a loose shock, or a loose sway bar end link. Put it up on the rack, but couldn't find anything loose. Went home and peeled the trunk liners out to tighten the top shock mounts, but both were tight. I thought "I'm screwed, gonna have to cancel the trip to Laguna." Sat down on the couch in the garage and stared at the car, thinking "What changed all of a sudden? All I did was put in the new brake pads." Johal E32 recommend dragging the brake pedal as a test? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/T4467OXzGbU To prove the theory, I re-installed the old rear pads with the tabs and the noise went away. Put the SR32 pads back in, and the noise returned. Also, at first glance all 4 rear pads looked the same to me, but they are NOT. There are 3 protrusions on the inboard (piston side) pad and one protrusion on the outboard side, so be advised. (Street pads on the left, SR32 pads on the right)

Ya, it's not as bad with all trunk liners installed and the rear seats flipped up.
David Zeckhausen said: "I even had a customer red flagged by officials while leaving the paddock (at least a decade ago) when their PFC01 rear race pads were making that same noise."

So rewarding to find the source of these noises that pop up on occasion, congrats on the good detective work and thank you for sharing!

My rear pad chatter from my AP kit is insane haha. You'd think the axles were rubbing something. Tap the brakes and it goes away.

Pad chatter is a race pad on sliding caliper thing. There are other racing pads that don't have the clip.
Normal. Extremely annoying at lower speeds…but normal.
