IATs for non-intercooled supercharger
Most people don't need or desire this data but for my fellow nerds....
I moved my P3 gauge over from another car to my 2011 e90 M3 with a VT1 ESS 535 supercharger. This unit has the V3 vortech blower and no intercooling. For the sake of posterity, in the event another individual is interested in knowing what IATs look like with a non-intercooled supercharger: Ambient temps today: 53-56 F IATs ran 110-120F, or a delta of around 60 degrees. This was with spirited freeway driving and an oil temp of 200F, in cool spring weather. Max delta (intake temp less ambient air) was 70 F (IAT ~120F) on slower speed street driving after restarting the engine after sitting for an hour. In comparison - my Harrop SC on an e93 with DCT reliably runs a delta of 30-40 degrees, even in ambient temps of 100F. |

Thanks for this. Bolting one up on my 4.6 stroker. Anything you've done above and beyond the stock supercharger?
Previous Owner of SC sent a Vortech Race blow off valve and meth injection plumed into every velocity stack off the intake. Should I run the meth injection? Im in Texas. The car isn't a daily so I probably wont be driving it in the heat of the day etc. Thanks |

FWIW - The guy I bought this non-intercooled kit / car from lived in Phoenix. He had no issues for two years of ownership but his was 100% street driving and I think was pretty casual driving. Good luck with your project, though, sounds like you're going to have a beast on your hands. |

It's a shame no one can tune these cars properly for meth. Cooling is only some of the benefit of meth. The added octane should help push higher numbers and in a high compression engine like ours that's big
