Bad TA?
Hi all, looking for some input. 2009 DCT E92 for reference.
i downshifted after a pull yesterday and noticed it burbled a bit louder than it normally does. About 2 minutes later I got home, put the car in the garage and didn’t think anything of it. This morning I went to start my car and it turned over, had an extremely choppy idle and the rpms were bouncing all over the place. SES light and traction control lights came on the dash, accompanied by limp mode and the engine malfunction light. I turned off the car, tuned it back on and immediately all codes went away and the car was normal. Then I made the mistake of thinking it was a fluke. Next, I went on a short drive and everything seemed normal, aside from the fact that occasionally I would get a slight cut in power when starting from a stop. I left my car for a few hours and when I tuned it back on, the choppy idle was back along with all the codes and the car ultimately stalled. I ran the codes with protool and was greeted with an assortment of codes as follows: 2B5B Throttle valves fault status, bank 1 2796 No Description 2B46 Misfire impairing exhaust emission, cyl. 5 2B47 Misfire impairing exhaust emission, cyl. 6 2348 Misfire impairing exhaust emission, cyl.7 2849 Misfire impairing exhaust emission, cl. 8 2B4E Misfire impairing exhaust emission, several cylinders 27C1 Info: Tank empty on fault entry Obviously all signs point to a bad TA on bank 1, but before I go and invest time and money, I thought I would get some opinions. Could my pull have sent the throttle actuator off the deep end, causing misfires on one side of the motor? |

Yeah, pulls will cause wear and tear on the TA's.
There is a rebuild service. Mpower Motorsports
