Some funny comments about my upcoming first service.
So I have a scheduled first service coming up and I called the service department to make sure they have all the proper fluids, etc. so I don't end up having to leave the car there. Here are some things I was told:
"All it is is an oil change." "1200 miles? Your first service isn't until 1 year or 15k." "Ya we change the diff fluid and add some stuff for your run flats." "Some do come with run flats." (after I told him M3s don't come with run flats) I better be watching these guys like a hawk. Would you go somewhere else? LOL.

I truely would go somewhere else. Whre are you located? How far is another dealer? Is it a small dealer as they have not sold any M3's yet. Its funny how "we" know more then some of the technicians. I hope everything goes well( that was not to be taken as a smart ass comment on my part.)

Seriously man, you need to find another dealer. These guys might pull out your spark plugs and hand them to you saying your car doesn't need them since it's a diesel...

Haha you guys.
I'm in Norcal so I have a wide range of places to pick from, but I figured I'd go to the dealership that sold me the car. I had planned on paying close attention to the service being done on the car. LOL where is "Fail"? Haha I seriously LOL'd.

OP-
You're too late. You should never have bought the car there. They got 1000s in profit they didn't deserve. Don't give them the privilege of trashing your M-DCT

LOL ... I thought these would be great for a laugh. Apparently I wasn't speaking with a real service adviser and instead it's just the guy that books the appointments so I'll try again tomorrow. I'm not too worried.

Have you tried Steven's Creek BMW in Santa Clara? They have been great with me so far. I have an appointment on June 23 for my 1200 mile service.

But I know for a fact my service dept has a dedicated "M" technician who does all their M's, and when I got the car back my write-up included a comprehensive 2-page breakdown of service items (oil, trans, diff, various filters, other random small parts) that I assume are from some kind of service checklist for the M3. I would guess any high-volume dealer would be working off this kind of information and you'll be fine. Just make sure they tighten the rotary girder and top off the flux capacitor. |

Seriously, run away man. Or at least go talk to the tech to make sure they aren't as dumb as the people you spoke to on the phone. |

That would scare the hell out of me. Even though it's generally not kosher to go to a dealer where you didn't buy the car, I'd think I would still look elsewhere.
