DCT transmission acting weird!
A couple days ago, I took an awkward u turn in my m3 and it gave me a transmission malfunction. Fast forward to today and I was just cruising down the highway and I got the same message and the car would seemingly only go into even gears 2,4,6. I turn the car off and back on again and it's all fine, have all 7 gears and drives completely normal. Is this a software issue? Any help is appreciated!

When it used to happen I would just shut the car off, turn it back on and it went away completely until the next sub 25 degree day upon first startup. I tried a fluid change, adjusting the adaptations in the DCT software, but nothing fixed it until I flashed the DCT with GTS tune. Since the tune it's never once happened again. I would try the first two things I said above, and maybe a tune or re-flash. Autocouture tried everything they knew but couldn't fix it. To this day I am not sure what the issue was but the DCT is totally fine to this day, 93K miles now. All that said, if you are still running the stock DCT software/tune, I would flash it anyway because it is a pile of steaming crap compared to the GTS file. |

I would guess this had something to do with it. Sucks but it happens
