The CS has the 3W since 2 weeks ago, the 2WNR is off the car. So now both the E90 and the CS have 3W |

My current setting are close to what BW suggested to start with on track but it feels pretty good on the street too. Do you see the same on their settings or do you dial more to start for track use? |

I also have MCS4W however spring rates are 650/550 2.25” Hyperco spring true rear coilover setup. Aside from the MCS coilovers, Essex AP F/R BBK, and 18x10.5 et 22 wrapped in RE71r the car is pretty much stock. I noticed on the road going under 40mph its a little bouncy, however on freeway/canyons its a lot better and the grip in the canyons is pretty good. My current adjustment settings are: Front L/H Compression 4/5 Rebound 5/7 Rear L/H Compression 3/3 Rebound 4/5 I tried 1 click more HSC in the canyons and it was too bumpy so I am not too sure going up more on the adjustments. I’ll be at BW 9/29 to dial it in. Basically, do you get the bouncy/jello feel at low speeds as well? Last edited by Small Yellow; 09-27-2021 at 02:52 AM.. |

With that you may try running the compression all the way down to see if it softens up what you're feeling? Mine was a bit harsh on freeway joints and running it all the way down made it much better. But honestly overall I feel its very streetable. A lot of people told me it was going to be awful but it rides better than the car previously with OE shocks and H&R race springs.

I run high speed compression at zero, even low speed compression down to 2 or so for street use. It makes it perfectly liveable even with 800/700 rear coilover

Thanks for your feedback! I'll give it a proper shake down at Buttonwillow and see if more spring rates are required.

You'll have a blast at Buttonwillow. You will likely have to turn the shocks back up quite a bit to get them to where you want. Buttonwillow is not super bumpy but you'll get to test them quite a bit!

Also Shadow another question for you. Did you reinforce your rear strut towers with true coilover setup? I dont have it done yet but I plan to once I have the welded half cage in.

I have typically been conservative with this 'true rear coilover' on previous gen M3s. In those, people said they were running full coilover without issues but I never felt comfortable. The E46 was made out of paper maiche and the E9X, although much stronger, still had a passthrough shock. I do all my own work, so it was clear when installing suspension on the F80CS the first time that the rear structure is very different in the F8X. The sheet metal does not have a perforation for the shock to fit through and is an 'eye to eye' design. Also, it has a large spreader plate to distribute the forces. After that first install, all subsequent setups have been rear coilovers and here we are, 3 years later, countless track days, curbs and street miles on the car and the surface in the rear where the spring now rests looks perfect. To clarify as we are in the E9X subforum: my E90 track car uses a divorced rear setup. My F80CS track car uses a full rear coilover |

November 2020 we put MCS 3-way full coilovers on the car. The car is caged, gutted, full aero, supercharged, runs slicks all the time, but the rear shock mounting is not reinforced. Been fine so far, including a few solid off-track excursions. Sometimes I wonder if I missed my calling as a landscaper.....
