I don't mind destroying the A052 in one day to go below 1:37. But yes, NYST will chew it up and spit it out by lunch time. I am a bit surprised that a used Front 265/35/19 MPSC2 did for me best time at PMP (4 x 40min) and today 7x20min at NYST i was running 1:38s and it still look good. I was planning to be done with it by lunch time but I got home and it looks like there is still another day on it. No cord is showing |

You can have good front grip too, if you set your car up that way.

What if I told you, there was a combo of brakes, tires, and wheels that would allow you to have this front grip too?

Finally my front CCM-R are back on the car.
worked on it all day yesterday replacing the OEM front with the Brembo. New pads all around and next track day at NYST will be a good test for the whole system. I also replaced the normal Brembo bolts with their stud kit. Should make it easy to replace pads since I have to take the caliper off every time. |

what is the purpose of the stud kit if you still have to take a nut off? seems like you'll just be taking a nut off instead of taking a stud out.

I am in the second Brembo bracket set. the bracket is either aluminum or some other soft metal. By taking the bolts in and out of the bracket multiple time, the thread deteriorate to a point that they are no longer safe. The studs are very high quality metal. Like some king of steel. It goes into the bracket with Loctite red. The nut is a softer metal locking nut. So first, it is easy to take the nuts off (and reinstall) , then deal with the caliper. Second, the part that deteriorate is a small nut verse the bracket. Hope my explanation makes sense but I will be happy to clarify further |

Ready for 5 days at WGI. then 2 more on the 30-31.
I went from "not being interested" to be "WGI addict". All it took was 2 days open track in June. New experience with towing, all my stuff in the Landcruiser. a full set of 4 x wheel set. For the first two days I am on Front 265/35/19 RT660. Rear 295/30/19 Pirelli Corsa Right and Left. The extra set is matched set of MPSS 285/30/19 and 295/30/19. June WGI I was on Front MPSS 285/30/19 and Corsa Asym 2 305/30/19 and I had a great time (car overheated but that is another story) I have too many 295/30/19 tires to buy more rear tires in 2021. I am not looking to set grip level records. I will be for the first time on 265/35 RT660 and my main goal is to see how I like the front. I just finished a 265/35 MPSC2 and it was great but too expensive to buy new. For the rear Instill have to make decision between 275/35 or 305/30. Weather is iffy for Wed, Thu, Fri but getting better for Sat and Sun looks the best. |

Nice Land Cruiser. What's the tow rating on those?

PS. I finished BMW CCA ITS school so I am now a National BMW CCA Instructor.
Just in case anyone want a private coach or AIM data coach. My mentor came with his McLaren 570GT. Spending two days "coaching" him was not a terrible thing at all. What an incredible machine. |

The 1996 LX450 (Toyota Landcruiser) is heavily modified so OEM tow rating is probably not applicable. Going to Moab UT, with all my spare parts and gear for 10 days in the desert I was 6600Lbs.
The trip to WGI and back was uneventful. The straight six 4.5L is not very powerful. So lots of patience helps. Good music helps as well |

At the GVC BMW CCA ITS school I got to try number of in-car communication systems. They all had issues. I was looking around for a more robust solution.
I selected to go with ZeroNoise communicator, IMSA system permanent installed in my helmet including military grade noise cancelation microphone and a portable system for the student. This is a more expensive solution. I could have had the trackmaster, chatterbox, Speedcom type setup which would cost similar to 1 front tire, but I went for a system that cost me two front tires. Unlike two front tires, my expectations are that it would last more than three trackdays. The benefit should be a clear voice and no need to raise the voice to be understood. I will still be saying "brake, Brake, BRAKE!" with a bit of urgency and raised voice :-) |
