Big brake kit for supercharged M
I feel kind of silly asking this question because the answer seems obvious but maybe it isn't after all. I am close to pulling the trigger on a G1 SC kit and had thoughts about a big brake kit as one would think with more power, larger brakes is a good idea as I'll be going much faster.
However, does a BBK kit offer better stopping power over OEM? This is purely a street car and won't see the track regularly, if at all. Will a BBK equipped car have reduced stopping distances and increased stopping power over stock? Is it fair to say it's pointless for a street car, even a SC one? I don't think I can say well, yeah it will have reduced brake fade because it'll never get to that point on the street. Please shoot me straight I'd love to learn something new. If anyone has done real world testing and saw reduced stopping distances I'm all ears. Otherwise I'll just stick to OEM and save the effort for other mods |

Bbk's don't help with stopping distance on the street. They are for endurance.
If you're fading brakes on public roads, you're being unsafe and should consider tracking.

My car has had a supercharger since 2009.
Braking power has never been an issue with the factory brakes. The system hauled the car down from 165+ on a handful of occasions over the years, with no problems. I started taking the car to the track in 2019, and the OEM brakes (with track pads) worked fine for my level of experience. But last January when the rotors were getting thin and needed replacement, I decided that a BBK was the safe thing to do because I'll continue tracking the car.

What he, he, he, and he said above...big brake kits are designed to handle repeated stops from high speed. For the street the OEM brakes should be good. At most, a good set of sport pads would do the trick. Ferodo DS2500 are a fantastic option that work well for road, autoX, etc.
