What\'s this smoke burnt smell..

Seeing smoke on start up come from this area very light and smelled like burnt carpet or something ... stopped after a little ... hard get pic but was coming below left side ... didn't see any tube or anything from that area ... it's not from tube you see pictured...

Never noticed it ... but have been noticing more burnt smell last week drivers after ...

Thoughts?

Probably power steering fluid. Put a sock on the reservoir.

There is a hole in the lid. When fluid sloshes from spirited driving, it sprays a little. Some people tap in a nipple and attach a reservoir. The sweat band works for me.

Wonder if there any other potential area other than this. Weird thing is nothing coming out where you have the sock ... it's smoking a little from much further below and away from the sock you have pictured

It's the fluid on the headers.

Headers that far front? If there is no PS fluid/mess visible I'd say it isn't that.

OP, there isn't anything at all really straight below the PS fluid can. Suggest you clean up the area and keep searching. That said, by all means change that fluid also if never done!

are you sure your valve cover isnt leaking? might look like smoke is from there but passenger valve cover always leaks especially from oil fill cap, smoke could be coming from oil on the header and just comes out from that area

The transmission radiator is below that area but should be covered by the wheel well plastic cover. PS fluid could have somehow made it there. I would check it to make sure something isn't burning on the fins or is lodged in there.

Don't know about manual transmissions, but my DCT radiator used to get very hot. Easily reached with sustained high RPMs and lots of shifts.

Any added noise coming from the pulleys? I have had an idler smoke before, but by the time it did there was a good bit of noise to go with it. I know that is not directly under that area, but nothing really is other than PS reservoir and DCT cooler, maybe some AC lines.
