Transmission part and serial number location???
I'm working with ZF to find a stripped threads solution for the oil strainer in my 6-speed manual transmission.
They want the part number and the serial number of the transmission. Does anyone know where I can find that information? If it's on the transmission case, is it viewable when the transmission is in the car. I have a 2012 E92 M3 with a 6-speed manual transmission. Wikipedia shows the transmission is a GS6-53BZ. According to ZF, that's a type of transmission and there are many variants. That's why they need the part number and serial number to explore a solution... TIA |

I know this is not all that you asked for, but it might help ZF by crossing a BMW part number.
and IIRC, there is a sticker on the transmission that you can read from below the car. you may need to take the felt cover off to see it. Also, I found these images on Ebay. Perhaps this will help? Cheers,
