I think Gabe's stock engine + supercharger has literally shown more reliability than any S65 'built' engine in history. And by a huge factor as well.

Absolutely stoked that dogbone is going to be dropping in a supercharged stroker! Going to be going from Epic Score to Even More Epic-er Score! Some of the best news that I have heard in a long time!

Can get the DCT to handle the power, especially for you one lap heroes!

100% - that engine has been amazing. Makes you wonder though - did Gabe ever really push it?

What's with all the waiting? All that does is give you time to rationally think things through - and that is the absolute worst thing you can be doing right now. You need to be thinking emotionally - full of passion and a burning desire for speed! You need a supercharged stroker in your life. NEEEEEEDDDDD!!!

Or maybe a supercharged and stroked S85 perhaps?

What is this Cornell? Is that like a junior college up there in Colorado or something? That can't be very expensive

I kid obviously, even an uneducated bumpkin such as myself knows Cornell - congrats to your daughter, you, & your wife - that is absolutely awesome!

Anyways on a more serious note - I feel like you are being a bad influence on the impressionable youth of this forum. Seriously - who is that responsible these days! Choosing priorities and responsibilities over fun and reckless spending - we don't need this type of behavior to spread more than it already has.

I saw some bad review here on m3post where a guy in F80 DCT was having tons of issues with SSP stuff but once he switched to Dodson clutch pack they all went away. I think rhyary was having issues too but don't know if he ever resolved them.

Quitter.

Get loans for college expenses. Apparently there's no need to be responsible with student loans as "someone" will bail you out.

Opening the DCT to change clutches to aftermarket ones sounds an awful lot like 'building an engine' to me.

I've read some stories where people say it works perfectly, others where it's a nightmare.

I'd need a really good reason to open the DCT up. The current one seems to work, I would just leave it at that.

Yup, it's so nice when your debts are paid, magically!! No need to think about whether it makes sense to study something that doesn't pay anything, no need to work while you study... just rack them up and hope they all get paid off for free

I need a bailout for all my car purchases. Seems fair.

The SSP clutches issues I was having seems to be more DCT tune issues. Now with the Epic DCT 3.62 seems to work fine.

The SSP where always awesome up shifting.

Went to High Plains to test the car today.

The two problems were a limp mode due to the brake booster vacuum pump not turning on, and power steering issues.

The limp mode is fixed. The issue turned out to be a bad ground.

The power steering issue remains despite having replaced all the lines this week. It is behaving somewhat different than before. Now, some of the issue seems RPM dependent. If I go into a turn in 4th with low revs and the steering is stiff, when I downshift to 2nd gear and the revs climb, the steering loosens. If I’m in the pit and the steering is stiff, if I rev the car in Neutral, the steering loosens.....so weird.

All the hardware except the Bimmerworld reservoir has been swapped. Not sure what the next step will be.......

When I had power steering issues the dealers first try was to swap or reprogram my FRM Module -- looking at references about that module it has nothing to do with power steering though and I don't think it fixed my issue either, noting just in case though. Their next move was to replace my power steering pump, no luck their either, then the rack and I had them put in the d088 cooler when they did the rack. That solved it. I also have the Bimmerworld reservoir (had it the whole time). Only thing to note about the BW reservoir is that it doesn't have a filter like the OE plastic one does and I cannot seem to get the shimmer of metal particles out of my PS fluid despite many flushes.

A few things I considered when I was diagnosing, I think when you unplug that white servotronic sensor connector in the drivers-side wheel well it creates an error code that needs to be cleared, double-check you've cleared all codes. Then I also tried reprogramming my servotronic settings by flashing by DME with new engine software that also overwrites the servotronic coding, I was going back and forth between Epic and factory and didn't really see any difference in my bad power steering behavior which sounds similar to yours. It was nice to rule out the software before they replaced the rack though.

Last thing, some of the new power steering pumps spin in the opposite direction as the old pumps and require a different belt and belt routing as a result. Even the dealer messed this up on my car and I think they had to reinstall the power steering pump a few times before they figured it out.

I share your frustration here as it took me 3-4 months to get this fixed on my car, best of luck.

Thanks for your insights. It's frustrating that a system that seems so straight forward can be so mysterious....

Your rpm dependent symptoms sound like mine when my pump was going out. Also it would just stop working mid turn on track, which tried to kill me. But you put in a known good pump so that's weird.
