Supercharger aftercooler system could move to the trunk for probably a small net weight gain but better distribution... Or convert to air-to-air intercooler and try to use the stock plenum. I think I can get the car to 3400 comp weight relatively easily... But getting to less than that and getting it off the front wheels is rough.
Sounds like roastbeef may need to offer his consulting services on adding lightness
I'd love to spend some time helping that car lose some weight!

Yeah, 2 sets of fresh yokos for this event was already $3k+.... along with all the other expenses associated with the event, and going in knowing I was going to be overweight and underpowered with an untested car, I knew the chances of catching Amir and Jackie was not super good. I burned up one set at Chuck and Friday at COTA, and used the freshies Saturday morning, then put the old tires back on, and ran the 'fresh' set again sunday morning. Botched T18 on my flyer Sunday morning which killed my chances of catching Amir.
.
Totally, obviously not alluding that you don't know better than I. I was just rooting for you aggressively after that Sat morning flyer and wanted something to blame. Didn't realize the drifting was on purpose until after the fact.

This platform is just going to struggle with the torque of those turbos.

Really enjoyed watching y'all drive. Looked like you were having an awesome time lap/lap with COTA to yourself.

I'm happy to be back at home. Made it back before Noon.

I did have one weird incident that occurred on the way back on Monday. I was on the phone with DRLane while sitting at a light in some tiny town in Texas. It was a slight uphill grade to the light. I was behind an 18-wheeler rig with a full size container. The light turned green. The lane next to us went. The 18-wheeler bounced up and down and slowly inched backwards towards me. And it kept doing that over and over......just bouncing up and down while moving backwards. I had a big rig behind me. (I have a camera on the back of my trailer.). I was leaning on the horn. He kept coming backward, and I kept inching backwards too. I was gonna gonna get squished between the big rigs. Finally, I backed up one more time, and made a big move with my rig to go around the big rig in front of me. Traffic was coming up in the lane I was moving into. I didn't care. I had to move. What an odd situation. Had more adrenaline running through me than when I'm on track.

Honest Assembly Garage ordered power steering lines so I took the E90 to their shop and brought the engineless E92 back home. The lines are shipping ground from Chicago. Hopefully they'll be in some time next week.

Lots of stuff to sort out in the coming weeks.

I'm sitting here staring at the brand new Pirelli DH that still haven't been run yet. Gonna have to do something about that. Although, there appears to be a shit ton of snow coming----like 6-10 inches on Saturday and 1-2 feet on Sunday.....yikes.....that might be a problem.

is your garage heated so the tires don't get ruined?

Going to Texas without testing the car was always a risk. I was very aware of that. But I had requested a lot from all the techs around me, and I was willing to also put in the effort of going down there.

In the end, I know that everyone threw everything they had at it. I’m leaving this episode knowing there’s nothing more any of us could have done. If the power steering lines turn out to be the culprit, that’s fine. We didn’t have any at our disposal. I mean.....I guess we could have ripped them out of OG Shark’s orange car, or we could have given Chris some sleeping pills and stolen them out of his E92!!!!

Did you check the wiring harnesses? I'm not sure if you saw what I posted earlier but I had the exact same problem where the power steering would go dead in the middle of a turn and it was all due to frayed wires.

Yes we looked. Connectors were plugged in and nothing seemed frayed that I know of.

What I’ve been told is that you should see fluid moving in the power steering reservoir. The fluid was not moving.
