Dinan race pipe or OEM with test pipes

I'm running Dinan catless race pipe (4 resonators), and want to cut back on the smell. So was looking at swapping to a high flow catted xpipe. I've read a few reviews on the RKP Sport and AA with cats and both didn't have great reviews from what I read.

I was wondering if I went back to a stock xpipe with test pipes, would I notice much difference in sound or performance? I really want to cut back on the exhaust fumes.

If you're worried about smell with test pipes or a HFC x-pipe, then just switch back to stock. You'll never not have an elevated smell from either one of those setups.

I was thinking stock with test pipes possibly. I saw the Active Autowerkes HFC xpipe for $1550. It has 100 cell HFC, you think that's enough to cut down the smell or would 200 cell be better?

Unfortunately I've already got a buyer for my Dinan xpipe for $1400.

100 cell is nothing, I'd do 200 cell.

But again, it's still going to smell so if this is an issue, just go back to stock because it will ALWAYS have an elevated smell.

I have the RKP sport and the smell isn't noticeable. Only notice it a TINY bit on cold start in the garage since I have a cold start delete.

I don't care what anyone says, x pipe has a huge effect on exhaust sound. Test pipes will never sound as good as any x pipe setup.

I ran test pipes with an OEM Midpipe then switched over to a Dinan Midpipe. The sound is simply a game changer but the smell is noticeably greater. Performance wise, I don’t feel much gains performance wise.

That's the one I was leaning towards, but damn it's pricey!

I love it, I specifically went for in for a dual purpose car. I think it growls a little more than rasp. Sounds 10 fold better than test pipes. I advocate for x pipes before any muffler work though. Much better sound + hp bump. I've had my RKP sport with both borla atak and OEM 2 pipe. Loved both setups and I think the X attributes to it a lot

Good info.. how's the Borla attak? Been looking at videos and kinda liking it. Is it louder than Dinan? Like annoyingly loud, is it comparable to Corsa. Just hard to tell off videos.
I think I'm convinced to get the RKP Sport and try my Dinan rear section and see how that sounds. I prefer a deeper growl, I think the Dinan is more higher pitched, so curious about the Borla attack.

Dinan's mufflers are on of my favorite sounding. Even with the fake tips lol! But the attak is louder I'd say for sure. Not a ton though. I found it too quiet with the stock X. I loved it with the RKP sport. I actively searched for that combo since it's a great deep tone while still having that exotic s65 note.

I mean I had people behind me say it's loud but I thought it was perfect in the car

I’m in the process of swapping a quad resonated borla mid pipe to oem plus test pipes due to the elevated smell. Sound was perfect but the smell was overwhelming. Just got it all bolted up but haven’t started it yet. Running this with an evolve valved exhaust. Hopefully sound is still good and smell isn’t awful. I guess another option would be to add high flow cars to the dinan mid pipe? Wonder if you would compromise power or sound.

I had considered adding cats to it, but figured it would be better to sell it and not cut it up and just buy a HFC xpipe.

You have a video of the RKP with the Borla?
I have people tell me my Dinan is loud. I don't think it's crazy loud.
