If they're going to annoy you 'pretty much forever' why not just buy the proper OEM dead pedal?

We used Ethos graphene coating. Polished with Meg's 105/205. I don't have any experience applying typical ceramic coatings so I can't say if it is much different. The Ethos product seemed easy enough to apply. You just had to make sure you got it all off within a reasonable time or it clouds up and needs to be polished off.

We will see how long it lasts. We applied 2 coats so here is hoping a few years. Not sure I believe the advertised 5 years.

I've been storing and moving around the Gigantic cardboard box that my ESS supercharger came in for about 8 years now. It takes up almost a cubic yard of space but, if I ever want to sell the kit, I'd have it for the next guy.

Who the hell was I kidding.. I'm never selling it! I hacked up the box. Going to hang the factory air manifold on the wall..

A couple weeks ago I swapped my Karbonius intake back to stock for smog. Took it for a drive and managed to get all readiness sensors ready on my first attempt.

My paranoia about stuck fuel injectors got the best of me, so I purchased some brand new Bosch units and installed them today. Very straightforward DIY and nice fuel rail design from BMW. The old injectors at 40k miles didn't look terrible, but not great either and I could definitely tell the old seals were dry compared to new. I'll be tackling the thermostat and coolant temp sensor before I reinstall the Karbonius.

Finally got my small coolant leak fully sorted. After my indy replaced the water pump and gasket and one of the expansion tank hoses, another small leak appeared a few weeks later. Turned out the thermostat o-ring had perished, which is surprising since it had been replaced in Dec of 2018. Maybe it was installed improperly back then, but a new thermostat and o-rings (for good measure) went in, and all is sorted now. Woulda done it myself but I hate dealing with coolant all over the garage floor and making a huge mess.

With this great weather we're having this week in the Northeast, getting antsy to pull of the winter wheels and get rippin'...

Looks very clean and nice under the plenum! You take time cleaning under the plenum I guess?

Curious, one of the pipe o-rings or the actual Tstat seating that started to leak?

The air box would not let you pass smog? That's odd. Dose it not have all the connections as stock ( iat, hose ect)

It was the thermostat seating o-ring. Apparently it was a bit torn.

We have to deal with visual inspections as part of smog in CA. Any modifications without a CARB sticker are an automatic fail. I was also running a Stage 1 tune which won't pass all of the readiness monitors so I had to revert that back to stock too. At least it's only once every two years...

I just registered my M in a none inspection/emissions state due to this but I don't have deal with as much as you do..jeez!

Restoring it entirely. Needed a jump. That DCT parking brake manual level was fun
