Auto Solutions SSK

Hey guys, installed the AS SSK last night with 95A Carrier bushings. Paired with the Defiv Diff Brace, this shifter is absolutely insane. There's 0 Slop in the shifter, and with the 30% reduction, it shifts like a dream with confidence. It also "clicks" into gear which is a nice feeling.
If anyone is debating doing a SSK, Ronald at AutoSolutions will get you sorted. Through email he's very informative and any questions I had, he was able to answer with absolute clarity. This is my 3rd shifter from him and never disappoints.

I really want one of these. I keep putting it off because I hear how much of a PITA the install process is. Was it that bad?

Not too crazy, you can get away with just dropping the trans slightly and the x-pipe. Well worth the hassle

Is it worth the hassle? Absolutely.

Is it a PITA? Absolutely.

I want to upgrade from my AutoSolutions to the CAE shifter and have been putting it off because of the hassle lol.

I installed my AS SSK on a lift, if you're on jack stands, I wouldn't even touch it.

I plan to get the SSK when I do my exhaust this spring. Im sure having it up in the air makes less a pita

So why 30% op?

I've got 20% reduction and would have absolutely gone 30% if I were to do it again. Alternatively I'm upgrading to CAE.

ASS is excellent though! Huge improvement to stock.

What is different/better about CAE? Haven't not heard of those one.

I'd say it's a more track specific shifter (far from OEM looking) but obviously it's used by all shorts of folks. It's taller and much shorter throws with adjustability between gates, and a lockout function to prevent accidentally overshooting 3rd to 2nd downshifts.

Again, the Ron's kit is awesome! You can't go wrong with his solution.

I googled it after I posted that question and seems more suited for autocross which I don't do.

Went with 30% as I like increased shifter effort. I like to have a "confident" shift. This is my 3rd shifter from Ronald, and everytime after long talks with him about my needs in a shifter always end up with me going with 30% haha.

Yup, I'll second this.

I previously had a CAE and while it does provide a slightly better experience you have to be willing to have that look which IMO is terribly out of place in anything but a track car. The AS gave me 85-90% of what the CAE offers and looks completely factory. It's a win to me.

Love mine. Only regret is that I did not go for a bigger reduction. Should have gone with 25%, not 18%.

Oh well, such is life.

I got a response from him. With the zhp knob he recommends 20-23%. To all you guys who went higher or wish you have gone higher are you using stock shifter knob or shorter one ?

I did my rod bearings on jack stands.

This almost scared me away. But I really want this upgrade.

Ron's SSK is arguably hands down one of best mods for an E9X M.

I did 25% with ZHP knob and 2" added height (really only 1 inch added height with ZHP knob that is 1" lower than the stock knob).
