Anyone located in SoCal preferably San Diego have a guy that can pass me on a illegal smog?

In California they have to plug a device that reads the ecu... I'd suspect it also reads the vin as well so can't just pay someone to pass it.

You can run O2 extenders and make sure the ecu is flashed to stock and in emissions is turned on through a lengthy process.

This is part of the reason I just have my cat delete x pipe just hanging in my garage... just not worth the hassle anymore for me.

I'll probably buy an RKP street pipe that connects to the oem cats just so I can get increased volume and still pass smog.

The best you’ll find is someone who doesn’t look under the car/pop the hood. Pretty unlikely you’d find someone who would just outright pass you without stock flash and no cel.

If you live in Cali and don’t want cats, get used to swapping a stock x pipe on every cpl years

Will reversion to a stock tune, cats in place, and axle-back exhaust succeed for a CA smog test?

Yes you'll pass but there's an "emissions readiness" procedure you need to do... I think it took me 3 weeks to get the Ecu to turn on emissions readiness... it's a pain

Wow that sounds like a pain. I did a handful of engine on/off cycles over a couple days. One day went out on some country roads for some spirited driving and cruised home on the freeway back. Total of about 80 miles and I was golden.

No, won't pass a visual. Anything aftermarket needs a CARB badge.

Correct. You’d pass with that setup but would need to follow the FTP drive cycle for our car. I have seen cases where people will follow the drive cycle and still fail.

I think muffler doesn't require a cert because it's after all the emissions equipment. However aftermarket intake system does require cert.

Pretty much what I do as well.
I aim for about 100 miles of mixed driving, slow downtown miles (0-30mph), boulevard miles (35-50mph) and freeway miles (55-85mph).

Pretty much this... in addition to the drive cycles you need time and distance to get the rest of the codes to change to emissions readiness.

Huh? I drove home from the exhaust shop installing my OEM X Pipe and I had readiness with the stock tune reinstalled.
