Started some maintenance and mod work.

First up oil change, then brake fluid flush to rbf600, then some mods!!! Should be a fun few weeks of getting this stuff done in between work and life lol.

Haha, I got the Bear Creek idea from your recommendation in the Bay Area driving roads thread, going to try and coordiate something with Davisca455 if you're interested.

Hello all,
I picked up a 2011 E90 last month and I am experiencing a power steering leak and I was backing in to a spot and as I was turning hard and the steering started to get stiff. I put it up on jacks yesterday to see if a line had popped off to cause a massive leak. However I did not see anything detached. How could I determine if the pump has failed?

If you had a leak, do you see an obvious point of leaking in the steering rack?

Jack up the front of the car, put some more fluid in if you need to and have someone sit inside and turn the wheels lock to lock. Look to see if you can spot the leak that way.

If the pump failed you should see fluid near it. It's possible that a seal on the rack itself failed or it's not worth trying to DIY, you may just need to visit a mechanic.

Thanks for pointing that out! I bought it at Carmax in July. I'm guessing they've been on backwards since then. I'll swap them out this morning.

Make sure you check the vane orientation first. Don't go by the drill holes.

My car's got the rear discs of the M3 E46. I only figured it out because the wrong drills direction made me look.

When I checked, they're not only from other car, but also their part number points to opposite sides.

Received some new shoes. Going to try the Firestone Indy 500s as they're priced right. They seem stiff, and a little heavy, but I have heard good things.

Here is hoping these ones are round... at least their date code is pretty recent, unlike the continental disaster of 2020 I just endured (the new conti tires were made before my worn out PS4S tires...).

🥺

🥺
for some reason, i have always been biased against Continental
and I have always had poor experience with Bridgestone tires
so I stick to Michelin
I'm glad the MPS4S tires are one of the best around

please update us with your review of the Indy 500s

So over the holidays i finally got the airbox lid to complete the set. Sound is epic now...the lid made it slightly higher pitched, which i love. Blends very well with the MPE. The quality is top notch and fitment is perfect. A couple pics showing the weave in different lighting:

Nice! Feel free to add any videos/sound clips to my thread here: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1779294

I never had the full Eventuri setup (missing the lid), so I'd be curious to hear how you think it compares to my full Karbonius video. I imagine the sound levels will be similar (maybe 5-10% in favor of the Karbonius due to the thinner walls), but I'd guess the bigger difference would probably be the tone; Karbonius deeper/throatier and Eventuri more high pitched especially at higher RPMs.
