Not seeing much out there on the subject as far as DIY or forum discussions. Has anyone out there replaced their headers or gaskets between the manifold and block?
I'm looking to replace my gaskets and want to get some sort of game plan together. What I'm thinking so far: The space seems to be there; no need to lift the engine too much for clearance. The subframe's gotta go, or maybe just positioned out of the way at the very least...may be a good excuse to buy an engine hoist if needed. I wouldn't feel comfortable with the engine supported by a jack while cracking the manifold nuts. I'm gonna replace the engine mounts, Guibo, and shifter assembly with the a SSK while my exhaust is dropped. Any help/feedback would be great and much appreciated. Planning on doing this in my driveway, too, because apparently I hate myself. |

Yea similar process to dropping the subframe for a rod bearing change. If you haven't already done your rod bearings it's a good time to do them while the sub frame is dropped.
