Up for grabs is a set of wrinkle red powder coated valve covers for the S65 engine. Threads were protected during painting process to ensure smooth assembly. All surfaces 100% covered and sealing surfaces have been give a light coating to ensure smooth seal against o-rings/valve cover gaskets.

Powder coating ensures paint will not flake and create leak paths like OEM paint did.

Price includes shipping within continental US. Buyer pays PayPal service fees. $150 returned to buyer upon completed return shipment of OEM valve covers.

Fair observation. I sprayed mine and have not had any issues so far. About 1,000 miles on them since valve cover gasket replacement.

You don't want oil getting under the coating and cause it crack/peel and spread. That's why the factory covers fail because the overspray on the inside of the cover/gasket bead area starts peeling and bubbling which sacrifices the vc gasket sealing area.

Not sure how resistant this coating is to oil, you'd have to check with the powder coating supplier.

The valve cover gaskets are double ribbed and nice and thick, no need to worry about the wrinkle finish being detrimental to the sealing area, once it's torqued down it's sealed. Only issue I have with mine is the fill neck always has a thin layer of oil around it even with a new cap which I've read on the forum is normal with certain ester based oils climbing threads.

Bump. Spoke with my painter about the risk of "lifting" after exposure to oil and heat, he was quite confident that powder coat will hold up as he'd done lots of valve covers over the years and has never had a client come back with this issue. Accepting offers.

They do, I did use some high temp gasket sealant when I did mine. So far so good.

to anyone reading this... DO NOT do this. The powdercoating will breakdown and fall into the engine. Never powdercoat the inside of the cover or the gasket surface.
