This build is wild! Looking forward to your feedback when it's back on track. That tire size... what kind of front fender work are you planning to do? Wide body stuff I assume

It’s not just a race school, we just haven’t gotten up the MS Reg page for the actual HPDE part of it yet. But you can put it on your calendar!

Yeah definitely going to have to go wider with the fenders. Do not think we will be able to have it ready by the beginning of Oct so will likely run the wheel/tire combo that fits in the stock fenders. Then get the new body stuff ready afterwards.

Looking like it is going to be just a DE that weekend? How much track time would you guess? Might be a good test & tune weekend.

I am not 100% certain but usually I think the schedule is 5 - 20 minute sessions each day.

Just going to leave this here...

Not looking like we are going to have the wider panels ready for the next race so putting on a temporary wrap to make it (somewhat) presentable. Really going to be pushing the 50ft rule... A lot of respect for the people that are good at installing wraps - I am certainly not among that group. Based on how long it took me to do just this I only have about 53 more hours left to finish.

Once we have the car back together & running will definitely be putting some time in on the dyno working on the tune. Looking to have it tuned & be testing within a couple of weeks.

Probably not. I still don't have an engine. However I'm thinking of building a T2 car to add to the stable.

Been waiting on that thing for a while now right? Have an ETA yet?

What are you thinking for a T2 build? We are in the planning stages of a lower class build as well. Want to stay with the E9x platform but not a fan of the T2 rules for the M3 though - so will probably end up leaning towards NASA ST3 with it.

I once thought it was a good idea to help a friend who has done a few wraps wrap my car. My brother and I spent 4 weekends working 14h/day, what a completely nightmare.

Never again!!

It looks to be pretty dead around here like TT3. Would likely travel a bit further with it.

Yeah, I agree... did a fender today - key is "a" fender. I'm freaking awful at it.

Could run ST2 but then you've got guys like Lobster, Fennell, Costas, and the GSpeed cars to compete against...

That would be the plan! So many tracks I want to hit heading that direction.

This car is an ST2 car in NASA. The next build that we are planning would be ST3 level.

What avg hp/weight are you at right now that puts you in ST2?

I'm still waiting for the engine. At this point any updates or an ETA is worthless. I'll know when I actually see it and it is running.
I am looking at the E92 M2 for T2. Just going through the rules and considering it. So far the 80mm air restrictor is my only hesitation.
FYI We don't have NASA here so that is not an option.

Last time the car was on the dyno & scales it was 341 avg hp & ~ 3,300lbs with me in it - so ~ 9.7:1 lbs/hp. With modifiers I would need to be at 10.1:1 for ST3. Would be ~ 180lb add - so not a big deal but ST3 in this area is pretty dead right now while ST2 is fairly active. I think we can get this car close to the 8.1:1 that I would run in ST2 - so shooting for that.

Yeah wasn't a fan of the restrictor either. Also not a fan of the 3600lbs if you want to run a bbk - not sure being neutered that much & then being that heavy will make for a competitive car in T2.

If we do another race build it would only be an E92 M3 - otherwise I'll just go with a factory built race car. ST3 in NASA makes more sense for our purposes & can also easily transfer to something like WRL if we want to go that route. Since ST3 is pretty dead around here right now would have to travel a bit to run it too - but hoping to do that anyways next year.

Good luck with the engine - know you been waiting on that for awhile now.

Thanks! I have been looking for other E9x ST3 ratio data points. I expect to be in that hp neighborhood and around 3350-3400 with me in it (sedan). Looking at doing a slight detune if necessary based on weight.

What does getting to 8.1:1 look like? Stroker motor or extreme weight loss?
