Exhuast with 4 HFCs for e92 m3

I've been digging through old posts and searching online but haven't been able to find any answers to this question:

Is there an x-pipe or some combination of x-pipe + connecting pipes for the e92 that has all HFCs? I'd like to swap my exhaust but want to keep all 4 cats.

what you described doesn't exist.

the closest thing you're going to find is going to be the afe xpipe with cats and resonators. i have it and it is nice. fits ok, sounds good, no cel.

I have done test pipes with stock secondaries, RKP with HFC and now AA with HFC.

The worst smelling was the test pipes with stock secondaries. The RKP was the best but still had some smell. The AA is in the middle.

Any way you slice it, your car will smell a bit unless you run a stock setup. That said, the stock setup is the most restrictive (go figure) and the quietest.

Stock is a 400 cell and a 200 cell in series IIRC. Most HFCs are 100-200 cell. Even if you put in 4 HFCs, it may still smell more than stock due to the loss of cell count.

What rear section are you running? Also do you have any videos of your setup? I'd love to hear what the AA HFC X pipe sounds like.

A little smell is ok. The car had a full catless system on when I bought it from IPE. The smell was unpleasant so I decided to swap back to stock. I ran a 2006 sti with an HFC in the downpipe and that didn't bother me at all, where the catless version did.

I'm thinking of supercharging with the ESS 625 kit and noticed it recommends an x-pipe with HFC, so I was investigating the best option to open things up, without creating a bunch of smell.

Yeah, that is the one I had. Nice design. Got the AA pipe for a good deal so I sold the RKP.

Lots of cars around here with AA super chargers and AA x-pipes.

E85 could be an option too. When I went catless on my other car, E85 was the only way my wife could stand it! E85 is much more tolerable - kind of a sweet smell. It gets worse in winter (when they change to winter blend and you actually get about E70), but still way better than pure gasoline.

Not sure what mods you have and if they can support e85, but just another option if the smell is really bad.

I just tell people that the smell is the smell of awesomeness. Just make the plunge and get a nice set up with high flow cats.

This does exist! Fabspeed makes a HFC version of the “test pipes” that connect to a stock Xpipe. The primary CATs are 200 cel. The only drawback is the shape of those HFC - they are round, and the OEM are pancake shaped (or flattened). This could lead to scraping.
