OP, heres an overview: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797020

Althought the sw version have being updated due to other modules (I have for instance have E89X-16-07-503) apparently the DME sw remains the same from 2013 isch.
My car is delivered from fab Jan 2011 and had E89X-10-12-503.

Because BMW made improvements to it.
I’d try to at least go with 240E - should be a little smoother and peppier that whatever original version you currently have.

I just purchased a 2013 M3 Coupe. Does my car have the 240E from factory?

I don’t recall when certain updates were made, but you probably have something close to 240 if not 240.

Christ guys, there's a thread linked up top that explains everything. A single search for "240E" would have also revealed the master thread with tons of vendor info on who offers it.
