You do know that SRF's dry boiling point is within something like 5 degrees of Motul RBF600 which is the key spec in preventing the brake fluid from boiling, right?
That's why I tried them because they were supposed to be good but I needed to bleed after one day it was horrible.

With srf and endless I can leave it the whole year.

Amazing weekend at COTA! First of all great meeting dogbone and OG Shark in person, great folks. Also enjoyed hanging with my other buddies that joined. Multiple PR's by many folks, had one PR yesterday and then 3 today! Good times!

New car is finally dialed in.

Is it unreasonable to think 200lbs can be pulled out of this car without going too wild? I'm pretty positive I'm already around 100lbs lighter than stock and that doesn't count any exhaust and I have the stock battery. I know that new Anti-gravity battery can save me 43lbs......I'm sure there is an easy 20-25lbs in a different rear section of exhaust.

Where does the reduction start to get to silly stuff? When you're trying to get closer to 250lbs out of the car?

Voltphreaks battery
Carbon driveshaft
Take rear seats out (and seatbelts)
Rear center console
Exhaust
hood
Trunk
Carbon plenum
Brakes
Burger tuning HVAC filters
Front race seats

That's the low hanging fruit.

Here's what I have so far although I don't know the exact amount for a few of the items:

-Essex/AP 9668/9449 setup (I know this is about ~29lbs based on their info
-MFactory carbon driveshaft
-Recaro Sportsters on BK mounts/OE manual sliders
-BBS E88 w/Cup2

I'm pretty sure collectively that has me down 75lbs....I only estimated saving 25ish on the seats but it could be more, maybe less? I know the OE seats are very heavy.

Do any of the aftermarket suspension options actually save any weight? I imagine it wouldn't be much.

Something like the battery + a full Akra would get almost 100lbs alone.

I do have an old Recaro Pole Position and have considered at some point swapping to buckets but right now the car is mostly street so not trying to go crazy.

Mostly just curious about this.

Rear seats and headrests are said to be 45lbs. I think the split seats have more frame to them. Rear center console is just over 5 lbs. rear seat belts, bolts, and C pillars are about 7lbs. I also tossed my rear floor mats. Taking stuff off is cool because it's free.
Slicer gave me the idea of putting the amp bracket on a diet.

I'm starting to go through the car and find larger buts to replace with titanium, but that's mostly for fun. The cost to weight benefit is high.

Exhaust and battery makes a big impact. Take a look at SPL suspension links. I haven't seen any published weights though.

BEEF - I have been looking at aluminum fasteners for anything that doesn't get wet. Use some anti-galvanic corrosion thread dope if you don't want to be mad at yourself later - Al bolts are another 30-40% lighter than Ti depending on the application, but I wouldn't use them anywhere they might get exposed to moisture long-term (short term should be fine, all the AL bolts out there for sale are anodized) or anywhere that needs to not break off in an impact, which really limits the places they might be worth using. Can't do them for the seat floor mounts, door latches, or any of the body panels or suspension, but for trunk stuff and stuff under the dash, might be worth a look

My car is almost exactly 175lb lighter than it was when it left the factory, 3666 full tank stock everything down to the fluids and the trunk junk vs. 3490 full tank full interior and stock seats, all trunk junk out including that penny under the seat that has been rattling around for 3 years.

If you have a sunroof it's easy-peasy to lose 200-250lb, all it takes is a pile of cash, even easier if you're willing to remove the rear seats or a passenger seat. Also, if you have a sunroof car, I think you can probably do a "package conversion" legally on a coupe to the carbon roof, as it was always a line-item option. That's a huge pile of cash to light on fire, but it's worth it to cleanse the world of one more sunroof abomination

On my car, the big chunks have been:

MPE - 20lb
AFE catted xpipe - 9lb
Brakes (STR40 front, RB rear rotors): 24lb
Karbonius - 8lb
Wheels - 24lb
Voltphreaks battery - 50lb
Carbon driveshaft - 11lb
Miscellaneous little things I'm forgetting have gotten me the rest of the way there - lots of extra crap in the car that doesn't need to be in there, and some cars don't even come with when they're new, like the trunk trim, the manual (2lb right there!), washer nozzles, some titanium fasteners

Most things I've done but the driveshaft ought to be legal in STU - So yeah, 150lb seems pretty easily doable if you do seats should be no problemo since you already have some of those boxes checked (except for the pile of cash that will be on fire). You will need a lighter wheel than you're on now, like a Volk or the Bimmerworld wheel, and the ST60 kit is not light, the AP kit would probably help quite a bit there, if you really want to get the last couple pounds out.

You get a PR, and you get a PR, and you get a PR - everyone gets a PR!

Saturday was an absolute blast - definitely great meeting you guys out there. And glad Sunday went well - sounds like y'all had a great day again.

You just can't throw that about the PR's out there without giving us the details! Beautiful car - and with the plans you have for it it sounds like it is going to be an incredible street/track build.

Was a lot of fun trying to chase dogbone around the track Saturday morning. Emphasis on trying - that could only last for his first couple of sessions while he was learning the track. After that no chance - the man is seriously fast. Not sure if he ended up sub 2:20 on Sunday - but know he was definitely knocking on the door.

For anyone who had driven COTA in the last couple of years - especially in the last 6 months or so - the surface is much better. The bad bumps are gone & felt like the new asphalt already has some decent stick to it. Definitely much, much better than before.

Good thing for me is the car will never been any more than a fun street/HPDE car so I don't have to adhere to any rules.

A big part of me finally moving on from the S2000 was that I can stick kids in the back so all rear seat components must stay.

In this car it likely won't be as noticeable due to the higher starting weight and power output but I was able to drop somewhere around ~100lbs off my S2000 (even more when I left the hardtop off) and it was very noticeable so I'll take that same methodology over to this car where it doesn't require me to be crazy.

I do have full SPL arms on the car too but I can't imagine they save anything significant if at all....I wouldn't be surprised if those parts weighed more.

I generally try not to keep any unnecessary junk in the car.

I only know of the Motorsport24 one that is sold online as a "plug n play" solution. If I do it, Racewerkz has a kit they put together and I'll just have them do it

I have a spread sheet documenting all of the weight loss changes that I made to my e92 that I intend to share with the community. It's just a matter of me finding the time to do a write-up. I have been weighing and documenting each item removed from my car over the past few years. I'm currently sitting at approximately 3250 lbs with 1/2 tank of gas. The car feels significantly better at the lower weight but there have of course been compromises made to street civility, sound, comfort, etc to get there.

i've seen a few aluminum nuts here and there when browsing titanium offerings. where do you source yours from? i thought aluminum was corrosion resistant...
aluminum might be good for those little m5 bolts on the plastic trunk pan. not going to be seen- not really needed for serious stuff.

there are fourteen m12 nuts that weigh (from what info i could find) just over a pound. twelve on each crash bar attachment, and two on the differential exhaust hanger. there are also four sizable bolts on the rear tow hook mount, i'm not sure what they are, but they don't appear to be the same size. i have yet to see bolts on the front tow hook base, but it might be bonded or something.
i'm also eyeballing the oil skid pan bolts... there are about eight sizable bolts there. important bolts, but not a critical safety part.

I like where this is going!!!! Chasing after nuts and bolts sounds silly until you prove to someone that you can find 15-20lbs in just some simple hardware changes.

Definitely interested to see your findings! And you have a DCT car which means you're starting with some extra weight.

I'm mostly interested in the simple stuff right now but I'm always interested to know the data.

i've been combing through parts diagrams for some time now. all i've done so far has been easily accessible nuts and bolts;
-strut brace hardware (two bolts, six nuts)
-license plate bolts
-intake plenum lid hardware
-wing hardware
-four nuts on rear exhaust hangers (i had extra nuts)

there is a body brace just behind the rear seats that has three pretty big bolts as well (i have a cusco brace back there). i have to find some time in the garage to take the bumpers off and do some poking around and measure some threads. my next titanium order will be pretty significant, so i have to time it right with mrs beef.
