It's been off-and-on. I ended up buying a used ST-60 kit locally, but have been keeping an eye on their prices since November, the code has been sporadically active since then (less Black-friday).
Great deal, totally would have pulled the trigger on it had I not gotten the deal I did on the ST-60 setup.

Anodized versus powdercoated. The later will discolor and is more susceptible to chipping and damage.

The Trophy finish has held up really well on my car after 70,000 miles and a few track events. I also have the ST40 front kit, with RB rear rotors. I am able to overheat them on track with DS2500's in them, if I go max-attack into every brake zone, but the DS2500 is a street pad and I don't track enough to keep a set of DSUnos or whatever handy. With thoughtful management they shed heat and come back quickly doing a lap at 7/10ths and that I cannot say about the stock brakes on track - once you've cooked them, you're cooked for a while

I also can't say the same (finish holding up well) for the painted/baked whatever finish on non-Trophy stoptechs I've seen getting heavy track use, especially the black finish I've seen a few look pretty patinated after getting hot

Similar to the "Brownbo" discoloration you get with some OEM red Brembo applications after tracking, or the M blue brakes turning greenish. The stoptechs do better than those, but they still aren't heat-proof and you'll eventually notice it on a track rat. I think the discoloration looks cool but if it bothers you, The Trophy finish doesn't do that, because it's anodized. Not sure it's worth the money (finish plus a few ounces of weight and a slightly more machined-looking, and therefore neat-looking, caliper body) but it holds up really really well and if I clean the scuzz off mine, they still look the same as they did when they were new.

They don't sell the gold rotor hats anymore I don't think, but my gold rotor hats are starting to fade a bit, more like champagne color now

They also now sell a Nickel finish similar to Brembo GTR kits blang blang

The other thing I found running the ST40 under 17's, is as much as I loved the cheaper tires, you really do get clearance down low enuogh to get rocks and such caught in the barrel. So yeah it'll clear, but, IMO, it's suboptimal from a clearance perspective, much like running the 380 kits under an 18 that barely clears the caliper, you need to check the barrels relatively often to make sure you don't machine a weak spot into them with a rock, and your crossover pipe is at more risk of being smashed by clag/rocks getting wedged at the wrong moment. It happens but its' rare, just mentioning it for completeness. I think both have their strengths. I think it's dumb, either way, to track often without a duct setup, even if it's just a hose run to the fender liner like all the OEM setups ever, or GT3 front control arm scoops, the lack of ducting on this car from the factory is dumb.

I got these from fcp euro a while back. I need to be better about flushing fluid and this stuff is expensive, so I'll be utilizing their return policy.

I don't think FCP plans on carrying it anymore so you wont have much luck with their return policy. If you flush yearly, cheaper fluid is fine.

Rbf was just garbage. SRF is great but sometimes pedal feel was squishy. Something about low compressibility about the fluid. Endless hasn't given me issues so far.

Which RBF? There's a difference between the 600 and 660 and I've not had an issue with 660 even after overheating the stock brakes. I drain the calipers after every track weekend so that helps.



Things like that aren't doing any favors for the fluid either.

Do any of you guys get tiny bubbles when bleeding? I'm topping off the reservoir and using a pressure bleeder. Passenger rear didn't have any bubbles, but driver's rear does.

Never mind, I think I turned the nipple too much and it was getting sucked in and put out at the nipple. I have a tendency to over twist nipples.

So you were just scavenging ambient air into the tube rather than air coming from the bleeder?

Edit: nevermind read that wrong. Air was getting in through the threads...
