Anyone using XPEL Tracwrap?
http://www.xpel.com/xpel-tracwrap-temporary-ppf/
I know that blue painter's tape is cheap, but covering large areas takes forever. This stuff looks pretty neat. Anyone ever tried it? With XPEL’s TRACWRAP temporary protection film, you get a professional-quality barrier from rock chips, road debris, and bug splatter in an affordable, easy-to-install package. Whether you’re protecting a vintage race car during a track weekend or just taking a road trip, TRACWRAP offers elite protection that goes on in less than 45 minutes from a convenient, easy-to-carry roll. TRACWRAP comes in a variety of sizes to suit virtually any application—from a classic Ferrari to a Jeep tow vehicle to a vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycle—and it costs less than you’d spend repairing a single ding from a rock chip at your favorite body shop. TRACWRAP is made from tough 8mil (0.008”) urethane film—a substantial barrier that offers far more protection than masking tape or messy-to-apply spray-on products. XPEL’s air-channel adhesive lets anyone install TRACWRAP with no special tools or chemicals, and do it in real-world conditions in a parking lot, track paddock, or garage. The days of ruining a vehicle’s classic lines with clumps of blue painter’s tape—or, worst of all, going without any protection at all—are over. And when you’re finished with it, TRACWRAP peels easily off in less than five minutes with no hassle, no mess, and no sticky residue. No temporary wrap offers TRACWRAP’s level of protection and ease of use, and it comes from the most trusted name in protective paint film—XPEL.

I have used Trak Tape for about 3 years. I find 3" wide easier to apply without looking like a mess.
For either- consider adhesion in the rain. http://www.trakktape.com/ |

Thanks -- looks pretty similar to the Xpel product. It might actually work better on the chin spoiler.

It's a very popular product for track days, vehicle delivery, etc
Just a reminder, if you're a BMW CCA member you get 20% off DIY products, aftercare and merchandise. The most popular size is the 4"x20' |

Review:
Much better than traktape. Traktape is super thick and applies poorly. This stuff can be applied very easily, I was so impressed! Excellent stuff, I will try it again for sure! |

Just make sure you take this product off soon after using it. Its not meant to stay on for weeks, especially not in the sun. I have had to repaint entire front ends of cars because this stuff was baked into the paint and would not come off....

That's not ideal... Would likely only keep it for 2 days but might explore other options. Just had a euro bumper installed, painted, and ceramic coated. Would like it protected on the track.

I went with Xpel self-healing clear bra on the entire front of my car.
I really like it.

Not MY paint, customers NSX.... i dont think its the product fault, he left the tracwrap on his car for a few weeks parked in the sun. we were not able to remove the tracwrap from the paint without damage.

I use trakktape over Gyeon ceramic coat. XPEL being THINNER is alarming? I apply 2, sometimes 3 layers on specific areas. Yeah it looks like ass by the time I get home, who cares. It did it's job.

You’ll get STD if you don’t: surface total deterioration.
