I guess there is no place in your driving journey where a great coach isn't going to help you. May be tenths vs seconds, though Scott is still helping me find chunks.

Aside from his day rate, what other things do you pay for? Travel? Hotel? Food? Or does he put a package price together?

And does he drive your car at every track so you have a data benchmark everywhere?

Hiring an instructor in the way you have is an impressive commitment. But you’ve been achieving impressive results! Pretty awesome to have all those records.

It's basically a rate plus expenses. Considering what a set of Hoosiers or slicks cost it's pretty affordable.

We've always set it up where he runs at least once reference lap to get data and video to compare to. I do believe that he could do 90% of it without getting in the car but if his lap shows that that the car can go xx mph through a corner it's harder to trick my mind into that not being possible.

I am not made of money so I still have to be selective when I use him.

Scott Heckert. He was actually a team mate of Mike Skeen in 2017-2018. He's raced in US and Europe. I highly recommend him.

Anyone attending the Edge Addicts event at COTA on July 19? I should be there in my track car, but if not, I’ll be driving my street E46.

Oh nice. Yeah there's a big Facebook group for Texas HPDE/TT and a lot of guys highly recommended Scott Adams. His rate is reasonable and he's local to TX so minimal travel expenses.

I'm thinking of doing it in the fall once the temps cool down a bit.

Yes, I'm thinking I will. Been almost 2 months since I was out on track. Just got my new Rival S 1.5 tires on and need to hurt them a bit. ;-)

The front sway bar mount on my track car broke in Aug 2018. Got that repaired. Then in Jan 2019, I hit a coyote going 75 MPH, which fucked up the front end. Was busy with work and studying for the MCAT so it’s been sitting in the garage since then. I have this Thurs thru Sun to fix the car, so we’ll see how that goes. It’s been 11 months since my last time on track.

Was sending it and ended up sending it

Luckily James has randomly decided to transport his car for this event and the guy had a two car enclosed trailer so I was able to hitch a ride. Going to the same shop helps.

Bummer.

Argh. Sorry to hear about that. Tech issues are always a bummer. But tech issues 400 miles from home have a whole other layer of hassles. At least trailering the car back was painless. What I’m sayin’ is, I think you owe James a beer!!

So would anyone care to share their thoughts on why they think Endless brake fluid is so good? It's insanely expensive and the wet boiling point is inferior to SRF.

Because Mercedes uses (or used?) the brake fluid for the F1 cars so it's gotta be amazing. I can't tell the difference between the stock ATE fluid or RBF 660 and I don't see why anyone else would either. If you're overheating your brake fluid...
