I like them. Plenty of grip when tracking the car and fitment is great.

The centre console in my car had some scuffs so I decided to wrap it.
My first wrap attempt so not bad.
However I don't like it and have ordered black Alcantara to wrap it with.

That will be next weekends project. 😁

Exhaust Time

Installed my new Borla x pipe and WOW! Exactly what I hoped for. Sound paired great with the Megan axel back that was already installed. I was also able to update my Alpine tune. Love the stage 2 tuning this guy does, thank you Alex. Big shout out to Dpc2u for helping me out today with the exhaust install, definitely couldn't have done it without you. Also installed new passenger cupholder and black kidney grills but thats not as cool as the exhaust and tune haha.

Finally buttoned up this long boy. Slip flange exhaust systems can be a PITA so I decided it best to put together on the floor and put it all up at once as I didn't have a helper and it was on the quickjacks. It sounds stock on startup and as soon as you touch the throttle it gets loud... all kinds of spits and raspiness.. what have I done 😧

One down, one to go. Then I need to wire the seat modules and heated circuits, and buy the mounts. Thinking of going with Planted or Brey Krauss.

Still need to tighten some areas down, but you get the idea
Wow your M was already amazing now you’ve taken it to another level. Love the embossed ///M. I’m contemplating ordering a set of seats from him. A little apprehensive because he’s overseas. Are you happy with the workmanship? Did you spend the extra coin and Have them done in the OEM leather? Can’t wait to see them steamed and installed. Congratulations!

AMX-Performance in Poland works with all OE Recaro products and can make the covers with original attachments, using OE BMW hides (or any other manufacturer as well). I did not have to send anything in.
Out of curiosity, what's the cost for custom upholstery from them? I didn't see pricing on their site. I imagine it's probably cheaper to buy the sportster seats and refinish them than sourcing a BMW "OEM" version, yeah?

Honestly, I think it is very possible to mount the Recaro seat bottom and seat back to the OEM seat frames. Might need a couple new attachment points, but I don't see why not. You're essentially using the entire OEM sliders and motors assembly, with a different seat cushion and seat back assembly then. I have a set of spare E92 seats I might take apart one day to see what's what.

I know there's an E46 M3 out there with Recaro CS seat bottom and and seat back adapted to the OEM assembly, hence retaining all OEM functions.

Thank you! The workmanship is flawless. Check out his Instagram and you'll see just how perfect all his builds are. The man can do anything with seats! It helps that he has official association with Recaro, that's how he can reupholster any of these to any schematic as he has all the original attachments. It's VERY expensive for a pair of custom CS shipped to your door though, then again for the work and cost of parts involved it's not outlandish.

Expect around $1k USD/seat depending on color, material, and pattern/customization + shipping.

What do you mean by OEM version? BMW never sold these in any other configuration except the black leather/Alcantara Performance edition.

To be honest, it makes more sense to buy them fully built from AMX Performance. It's a lot of work and the marginal savings wouldn't be worth the hassle imo, unless you score a set of Sportsters for a ridiculous deal. I only went this route because I already had the Sportsters for almost a year and it was more economical to buy the covers and DIY. Plus I wanted to integrate the heated elements/occupancy sensor/seat belt sensors using original controls.

Nice!!! Is that the full Supersprint Race setup with their xpipe as well? Any drone?

Would love to hear some clips of this. I have the same rear muffler but stock xpipe and test pipes combo.

Fully assembled, awaiting steaming. The fit is bang on and will only need a minor adjustment or two!

I also painted the cutouts a metallic satin silver for some contrast. Not bad for a rattle can job

I changed my oil. Trying out FCP Euro so I got the BMW oil. We will see what we will see. Still seems very odd. Took an oil sample to send to Blackstone. Oil did not have many mile on it but we will see what it says.

And quickjacks are so awesome.

Cheers,

Nice work! Sportsters will change your life, I recommend you get the lowest mounts available... deck those bad boys, it'll be like a new car..

Thanks! Other than the beauty of these seats, the thing I'm most anxious to see is the drop in seat height. That's the *one* major complaint I have about the E92 M3. It always feels like I'm sitting atop the car, not hunkered in it.

Which mounts did you go with?

I did the MS mounts, ms 3 points and recaro sliders. I think it's as low as they go for being adjustable, they do sit off center from the steering wheel slightly and reaching the seat back adjuster with the door closed is tough but other mounts I've seen sit up inches on these. If you go this route pm me and I'll give you the best known method to install, took me a little trial and error.

Exactly. That's all I meant. Either you have to pay a premium for the BMW Performance seats, or you can get the same Recaro sportster seats for cheaper and then pay for custom BMW or ///M upholstery and still save $$.

Cleaned/polished my exhaust tips with a combination of Nevr Dull, Brasso, 0000 steel wool, and profanity. I let them go way too long between cleanings, didn't realize how caked with black grime they were. Not a fun job in mid-summer South Florida heat...but they do look much better now.

Hadn't driven it for a week. Been on vacation.

Took it off the charger and just went for a drive through town. Neighbors now know I am home.
