Alternative to exhaust clamp

No. No other Bmw uses that clamp so more than likely there isn’t an aftermarket alternative

Yeah just weld the whole thing together so it’s a pain in the ass to come apart

That exhaust connection is a ball and socket style that is not limited to the BMW E9xM3. Some other makers use the same style clamp and others use two flanges that are pulled together with two long bolts.

Haha, I was assuming OP is looking for different means for None OEM setups when the connecting pipes and/or x-pipe are separated and easier to work with than stock. I've worked with those OEM clamps with different setups before and they're just not good enough. You don't have to weld them together you can weld on different style flanges too.

Like these.. I've used these before too, fiddly to put on and torque up evenly and you can see by the look of these ones there was still a small leak..

Use exhaust paste on both sealing surface then send the clamp with a powerful impact gun

previous owner snapped one of the bolts and rigged up some funkiness. So looking for a replacement, guess I'm going oem...

If you want, you could cut off both ends, weld in v band flanges and use a vband clamp but I guess that would defeat the purpose of being cheap.

If you want something that holds, that would be the way to go.

I know this is an old thread.

Question - do these clamps wear out? I have removed my rear section a number of times and the last time I had a bitch of a time positioning the clamps just right so that they actually help everything properly. Is this because the clamps stretched? Or does the placement need to be spot on perfect (I do not remember having an issue before...)?

I wonder if peeps clamps are leaking because of scrapping or a bottoming out in a driveway? I have my original clamps but I just put in new donut gaskets when I break them loose for whatever reason. I do use my impact to tighten. No leaks here ever.
