the trackspec vents on the driver's side are mostly over the airbox and the box doesn't really allow for huge airflow like the passenger side.

i've been fantasizing about running the karbonius plenum with the geoff steel intake... i have no idea if the two would fit together, but that would free up the entire side where the airbox is for some functional stuff like legit venting and maybe adding an additional oil cooler.

I have the Geoff steel intake and want to do the same. And would have if they would sell just the plenum.... but again I haven't seen where the carbon plenum shows any gains except for sounds.

did you have to move the radiator or a/c evap to run the geoff steel intake? i didn't realize this until now, but reading on their website, they say it is necessary.

have you done anything fun with the airbox cavity that the geoff steel intake creates?

Yes had to angle and change to an 135 radiator. Same capacity just shorter an wider.

See photos for other mods.

Everything is ducted and sealed.

We utilized the old intake location for one of the oil coolers.

I would think that with ISTA or some other tool, you could look at sensor data and determine if the lid being off is hurting things. Maybe MAP pressure, timing, or something else?

For me it was also fixing a water heat issue. Now the radiation has nothing blocking it and is fully ducted. Also now that we run 2 oil coolers oil temps are nice and happy.

I was reading up on the Hoosier R7 and noticed in their "Tire Care and Safety Guidelines" they recommend a hot pressure for cars over 3,000 lbs of 40-42+. Is that really what people run with these tires? Right or wrong I thought it was a general rule that the softer the tire the lower the PSI. If this isn't the case what is the preferred hot psi of say a Pirelli DH?

Hoosiers are simply their own beast. I’ve spoken directly to Hoosier on this topic. They insist on starting at 33psi cold and 40 hot on an E9x M3.

Pirelli DH is 30-32 hot.

That's interesting - wonder what it is about the R7 that needs the higher pressure. Have you run them before - if so did their recommendation hold true?

I’ve run an R6 new set and A7 new set. I have not run R7 at all. Not too interested. Won’t compare on lap time to slicks. I like slicks.

I currently run R7 on my E92M3 grocery getter (fully dressed 3850lbs but with MCS). Yes I run 40-42 hot. I've run 40-42 on SS, Conti GS scrubs, R1 and now R7. Below 40 is too low for the weight of my car. It would be a different story with a lighter car and or slicks.

I have a tow hook installed on the rear bumper. The mic wire wraps around it and sits inside the tow hook hole.
