It's no different than it was before, it's just a fine. And it's not $1k. I don't know why there is so much hype about it.

It's astonishing how much false information is flying around all media channels and people that are taking it as truth. Everyone take a look at the link below, no law actually changed, the only thing that changes is the ticket is no longer a fix it ticket. I got a non correctable exhaust ticket, it was $200 fine and I did not have to go get the exhaust checked by a state referee. You can get an exhaust ticket without a state ref.

The whole referee thing has already been in place. If you haven't gotten hassled yet, nothing is going to change unless you have an exhaust dump out of your hood and you like the sound of your anti lag pops.
This is social media hype and scare tactics. The state simply realized they weren't making money on a correctable cite and changed that small part of it.

Aside from the $193 or $1k fine, having to take time off work and go to court for having a factory exhaust that a cop subjectively decided is too loud is absolutely ridiculous to me. Yet, there's Harley's that are rolling around so loud that you can't even hear yourself think and yet they're exempt ![]() |
