I think the OP is not discrediting the dealership because he works there. Thinks dealerships always do excellent work LOL.

When installing the markings are on the wrong side! Plus no instructions to clarify! People have messaged me saying they have installed theirs improperly and it held fine for them. I had this done professionally and it still failed. I shouldn't have to pay AJM another $250 for a product that didn't last 20 minuets

I'm tending to agree with AJM here, but I just want to understand. So when you received the part and looked it over there were no cracks in the carbon and everything looked fine? Then after install you are assuming that a chunk of carbon just flew off the middle of the lip without coming in contact with anything on the road?
From what I saw I didn't see anything suspicious... but on the road it's weird that a chunk flew out at 60mph without hitting anything...

If it was a problem at the dealer I wouldn't do anything. I'm upset because I watched the install and I know it was proper, also you can't claim that installation instructions weren't followed if none were included

Unless the piece was damaged when you received it or damaged during installation, there is no way this happened without hitting something on the road. It sucks, but I don't think AJM is to blame here and you just need to purchase a new lip.

What the problem is is that you're assuming it's 100% impossible that I got a lemon. I tried to explain to AJM that I thought this was a fluke since the install was perfect and it didn't hit anything but they just keep blaming install. The problem is that AJM absolutely doesn't believe that one of their products could ever have a problem. I just got unlucky but AJM shouldn't blame me or the dealer for just one bad product

I'm not sure that you understand how making carbon pieces works

Your story doesn't make sense so I would not give you a free replacement either.

Post a pic of the damage btw I'm curious to see the hole where the piece just "fell off"

I'm not sure AJM knows how customer relations works... at this point all the bad publicity has done worse for the company than if they just replaced my splitter. All I wanted was a refund or replacement

I'd like to see pictures of what occurred. If the item had bolts and was given adhesive to ensure a proper fit, then this user might have a claim. If the destruction of the lip is more in line with a ground strike, then there's nothing much to be said other than a replacement is needed and the discount offered by AJM is totally fine.

Reading the review post...there's no pictures provided, and the guy who has an issue is making rather verbose statements of 'hundreds of people have demanded refunds.' I'd be surprised if the order amounts for this item would even come close to the amount of units needed to see hundreds of people with issues. This market is rather limited, after all.

I'd like to see pictures of the full lip before making any assumptions.

My lip has been fine (other than my dealer cracked the lip and bought a new one...waiting for delivery, lol) and absolutely held up to double the speed OP posted in a controlled environment. Sure, fitment isn't 100%, but I haven't had any issues with the piece with bolts and a ton of adhesive applied via my local shop who handles a lot of race prepped cars.

Dude you sound like a ignorant young kid on a war path. Your rebuttals are you making you look even worse. Maybe you shouldn't be driving a M3("Needed to save 2 months to buy a $320 lip", I'm here thinking that's chump change) .

Your statement of "knowing how customer relations works", definitely that tone of entitlement is working against you. They don't owe you anything, you bought a lip, they delivered, you liked it, their responsibility ended once the lip indicated it fit without modification. The installing company (your employer) didn't install it correctly, period. There are mounting points and they didn't bolt/screw there and the fact it didn't come with instructions, seriously? You need a piece paper to say "drill mounting points, insert bolt here, turn bolt (lefty loosey, righty tighty) and peel red side 3M tape, apply pressure".

AJM seems in the right, hell, if your story made better sense we would be supportive, but it just doesn't.

Are you certain a bird or some debris or something didn't catch the lip and crack/rip the piece off. Post the pics, a picture says a thousand words.

Like I said, I will post pics. Absolutely certain nothing hit the lip, I was driving 60 in the middle lane on the highway when I just heard wind and then scraping, when I was able to pull over a few miles later a chunk was missing from the middle and the sides were scraped because when the middle blew out the downforce was pushing it onto the ground.

Orrrrrrrrr you didn't put it on right and the wind pulled it down and it scraped the front and blew a chunk out. Doesn't that sound more likely to you?

You wouldn't be the first this has happened to either.

I heard the scraping after the loud gust of wind... I'm assuming the gust of wind is from when the middle blew out

You realize how ridiculous it sounds that "a gust of wind" blew a hole in the center of your lip?

Now lets stop blowing up this guys sale thread so he can sell more lips.

So dealership didn’t secure the lip properly...you were driving and the lip came off, causing it to hit the ground and brake in couple places. It sounds like you never installed anything yourself before or know how it works.

Any updated pictures? Or you finally realized that the dealership did a shitty install and that’s the reason it came off?

Just curious, are your products made in house or made in China then bought in bulk for resale?

Thanks
