I know, another oil analysis thread, investigating if my bearings were replaced.

Long story short I bought this car in November, was told the bearings were replaced without any documentation. I got it from a dealership, so I have no reason to believe that the bearings were replaced without the documentation. That being said I took that into account when buying the car, felt like I got it for a good price.

Anyways, Did an oil analysis to see if I could determine the material of the bearings since my car is a 09 it still should have copper and lead bearings. So now the semi odd part, got my oil analysis back only 1 PPM of copper, and 0 PPM of lead. Only about 4,000 miles on the oil. Below is the analysis.

Can I assume that the 1 PPM of copper is residual, and my bearings were replaced? If not how come? Just looking for some opinions on this, the car has 82,000 miles so I was expecting some sort of wear.

I appreciate any help.

when u did the title, did u write down the info of the previous owner? you could always try to contact the previous owner on FB or other social media platform and ask if they did it and where. Also if u find out where the car was serviced, you could call specialty shops in the area and see if they have a record of doing the bearings.
I had no records with my M but i did end up contacting the previous owner via FB to get any info that i could...

CU could also be oil cooler. At that number this would be my vote.

Pay for TBN & TAN next time so you can establish a proper change interval.

I suspect you could've run that oil twice as long.

Thanks for the comments. I did try to track down the previous owner, without any luck. Thats why I was hoping this analysis would clear things up, I had suspected that the bearings were not replaced.

This analysis makes me think otherwise.

I'll pay for the TBN & TAN next time around, based on the numbers I would assume that I am safe for another 5,000 miles. (Hopefully)
