Any feedback regarding the CSF radiator?

I'm looking for solutions to overheating in Texas. How's this product working for you track-rats?

Jordan is running it (the full CSF setup actually) in his race car for endurance events and has nothing but good things to say. However, he is NA so he gets better airflow than someone with a supercharger intercooler blocking the radiator.

We've had nothing but positive feedback and solid results from the CSF units we've been dealing with. CSF is a core manufacturer, so these radiators aren’t just factory cores with aluminum parts added on… They're genuine, high-performance cores that just happen to be priced really well.

Just did the CSF Radiator and Power Steering cooler. Happy so far. Great price point as well.

I run the CSF Radiator, PS cooler and oil cooler. It is an excellent product. The radiator and PS cooler are the better of the 3 products.

I've had PMs indicating that some folks using the CSF radiator are still experiencing overheating and limp mode.

Does anyone have more objective data or even anecdotal reports of lower temps on the track?

Running a water wetter on the stock radiator might yield the results you need. It's really improved my hot weather track performance. I run hyperlube super coolant, because it shows a significant drop even with 50/50 coolant. If you still need more cooling, hosing down the radiator with water in between sessions helps lower water, and oil temps a ton. As you drive and the water on the radiator surface evaporates, temps dive and stay down for at least 3/4 of the session. I know cuz I used to actually track a 335I

Same here. For Texas summers almost no reason to not go with more water mix. I'm running mostly water with some purple ice and very little BMW coolant, and really only for the corrosion resistance.

Can anyone share additional info re: how this has been a good product (IE. reduced running temps or prevented overheating in instances that previously may have resulted in overheating)?

As for the radiator, the temperatures remain more consistent. I have a dedicated water temperature gauge in the cabin now, and before it was logged through the DME.

With the upgraded radiator, one of it's biggest advantages is that it uses a higher performance core, as well as aluminum end-tanks. It should never fail, crack or leak at the seams. The nice thing about it is that it uses all the factory connections and mounting points and fits very well.

My overall temperature reduction has been between 13-17*F and under harder runs it keeps the temps at bay more consistently.

I have the radiator, heat exchanger, and oil cooler. I haven't run the car yet but they look like quality products. Mu only gripe is with the oil cooler, the cross-lines in the core that run horizontally look too thick to me, I would have used thinner lines with more fins.

Malek, what has been your observation with the oil cooler, temps, thoughts, etc

Does anybody know if the CSF upgraded radiator and oil cooler will fit together with an ESS VT625 supercharger...? Would there be any fitment or compatibility issues?

The radiator and oil cooler are both direct, drop-in fitment, so there should be no issues. If you give us a call (877-639-9648) or shoot us an email (info@bimmerworld.com), we can verify size specs with you to help with any concerns you may have, but I know fitment has been no problem with other ESS kits.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for that. In fact I have ordered the CSF radiator and oil coolers from Phil in your office but before I start taking the front end of my car apart I just wanted to be sure that despite being physically larger than the stock items, they would fit together with my ESS VT625 kit....

I run ESS 650 VT2 CSF oil cooler 5 gallon trunk tank for ice on ocations and am working on a air pump to that will blow hot air from ondernieth the intake manifold and the engine v area out the mimic vent on the passenger side of the hood, the pump is the same one used in inboard boat engines, they are light and water proof only am on the final touches of the 3d printed scoop that goes under the hood.
