CA Smog - Visual
Can anyone recommend a shop in So Cal (Orange County) that is smog friendly for a car that is modified and won't pass the visual part of the smog test because of a supercharger? Please PM if you may have a solution...

The SoCal smog process is
1) visual 2) ecu check that all readiness is 100% 2 is easy to deal with. Reinstall your factory primary and secondary cats and have your software tuner send you software that has emissions readiness turned back on (make sure it's turned on and not just having the ecu turn off the cel). The smog ecu checks to make sure all readiness is on (all o2 sensors are working and within normal parameters). Oh then you have to do all the drive cycles to get the ecu back into readiness. Took me 2 weeks worth of drive cycles to get my car back into readiness. 1 for visual you may have to check with your installer if they have a "friend" they know that can overlook the visual. Some shops will just take your car to their "friend". With the new smog process here in California I think it's actually easier cause they are testing your actual car rather than using another car and duplicating the paperwork. |
