I ran an adhesive heater pad on the oil pan of my E36M3 while it was supercharged with a V2 T T Trim. Vortech recommended it. Sort of a pain to plug your car in if you park it outside and drive it regularly but better than damaging the blower.

Ordered the pan heater. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow from amazon. I'm going to drive the car my shop to get it installed. Still running 10w60 with the Molyslip additive.

I ran a few. Cord was inconveniently short on one so it was a pain to plug in. I like to route it to an easy access place so no need to open hood. 400 watts is about as high as they go and good for the 1 hour warm up before you drive. 140 watts might be what you would leave on all night. And the size has to be right to fit a flat area on the bottom of the pan. Some experimentation required. I am using nothing and have driven in as low as -17F in my 08M3 with 0W40 oil.

I don`t make any differnce:
I run Shell 10W60 Helix Ultra all the way long Car stays all the time in my garage at 9 degrees Celcius in the winter. I don`t need to make experiments I drive the car slowly warm, between 3500-4000rpm max, so the oil temperature can reach 90 degrees Celcius and then I start revving the engine to 8400rpm Ok, here in Germany we don`t have such cold winters like you guys in Canada or the United States |
