Trying Redline 0w40&10w60 mix
They say an oil change is the best way to end the year.. well I said it.
The engine took in total of 3 quarts of Redline 0w-40 and 6.8 qts of 10w60. Did this to optimize cold viscosity while bringing the viscosity@100C down to TWS level. If you decide to drain out the oil in filter housing, 9.27L is exactly the amount you will need. Forgot to take Blackstone oil sample. Fck. Previous owner should hang himself for not changing oil filter every oil change. Slight gunk in the filter housing... Engine also sounds a bit sportier (more vibrating feel through gas pedal? can't really explain) than when it was on 5w-40 (previous oil.) I use Liqui Moly Molygen 5w-50 on my E36 and experienced the same sensation. Probably them ester oils playing inside the journals. Will run this oil for 3,000km or for one track day and send it to Blackstone Analysis. Not really looking forward to it.

That is funny. Sometimes you find people who do an extra filter change between oil changes but not usually people who change the oil and keep the old filter.
