i wish we could get a jack that is low enough profile to simply reach the front jacking point, but isn't four feet long. i'd like something that could also be actuated mechanically with an impact gun. i think it would be sweet to roll something under the car, hookup the impact, and the car is in the air in five seconds.

To reach center front jack point, I use my 1.5 Ton jack to slightly lift car from a front jack pad. Then I have enough room to fit my low profile jack in front.

If I’m at the track with only race jack, I lift one side of the car using rear jack pad and place a jack stand on front jack pad. Then I use center jack point to completely lift the front and place a jack stand on the other side. Then lift rear using center jack point.

I think it took me like 1–2 hours to lift the car my first time; now it takes me like 5–10 minutes.

Very nice. I've had a crush on the 2018 f250 platinums.. been watching a lot of reviews and decided it's the truck I'd want, but timing isn't quite right. It's too long to fit in my driveway with the other cars, and I don't have anywhere to keep a trailer. The next house will have room, but that's in a few years.

What color are you getting? Magnetic?!

At first I was thinking magnetic but then I saw it on a f150. It wasn't as nice as I thought. Bottom line I was conflicted between magnetic, platinum white and silver. This is a work truck but I didn't want it to look like a cheap work truck (MSRP 76K). Ultimately there was an Ingot Silver available with all the options I wanted (basically everything). I will have a 2008 GMC 2500 diesel 4x4 loaded SLT 80,000 miles for sale.

Have you heard of the quickjack system? https://www.quickjack.com/ Youtube has some good reviews. I would rather spring for an actual lift, but sometimes space is the issue.

Either way, you might be talking about that type of an invention in the price range of a conventional jack, which would be something to behold. The market has plenty of expensive ways to get your car in the air

Yea, it's not for me. for that much trouble, i'd get a more permanent lift. there is no value in portability for me because i have to take a bunch of other crap to the track and it won't fit.

i've seen people rig up a scissor jack to an impact gun, but it would be stupid to use a scissor jack on the center jacking point. the car movement is too much and beyond the scissor jack's intended use. i'm envisioning a scissor jack that is maybe a 14x14" square with four wheels as a base so it can move a little and stay stable. i'm not an engineer, so i'm not sure how exactly the screw/lift mechanism would work.

I have a quickjack. Its not very portable, but it does conveniently store out of the way so you can have your garage space back. A 2 post lift takes up more room and you are kinda stuck with placement. I can lift one car in the garage with another car parked right next to it, or move the other car out of the way and use the entire garage for one car. I've been happy with the purchase so far.

unfortunately, this is for a transmission, not for lifting a car. it is also a little too tall when fully compressed. they also say NOT to use an impact gun... probably heats it up pretty good and it seizes or something.

i don't know what kind of space you're working with, but have you seen the lowering/raising ceiling racks?
i'm likely going to pick up a few and put them in the huge wasted space above where my garage door is when it is opened. i'm going to use it for things i'm just storing and don't need access to all the time.

The 3 mile preferably. The 2 mile is fun too, but it's very short - I do 1:24 laps in my M4 there.
