How aggressively do you bed and all that? It will be interesting to see what your assessment of pad compatibility will be. One of the things I loved about PFCs on the OEM setup was a complete lack of pad compatibility drama. Swap a few days before track day, drive, swap a few days after track day, drive. Never had to do any aggressive bedding. No deposits, vibrations, judder, or any of that nonsense. I'm wondering if the XR1 and DS2500 will play well together.

I have not experienced any compatibility drama. Just my 2 cents.

A couple of years ago I was using Hawk DTC70 and found that they were absolutely horrible for pad release under trail braking after they came up to temp. Last year I switched to PFC-11s and really liked them except I felt that they were a little lacking on torque. If the xr1's release nicely under trail braking, I might give them a go next season.

No drama at all on the ride home. I don't try to bed on the street anymore. It's just not safe or ideal where I'm at.

Taking the M3 drifting this weekend! I saw the Turner aluminum underbelly kit and looked very temping. But I went with OEM underbelly since it was cheaper and I could the extra cash for tires.... Since Ill be needing some lol.

Loaded up and headed to COTA for early check in today, absolutely insane how many folks trailered in, brought RV's, enclosed trailers etc. This event is co-sponsored by 4 local PCA Chapters and BMWCCA, based on how many folks showed up today, sure to be a well attended and exciting event! Weather and forecast looking good so far also, can't wait to hit the track tomorrow.

It's a fun track. Drove from Vegas and that was long. Add a day each way from SF. Towing? Ugh, even longer unless you're a he-man and do 12 hour days.

Spent some time in the beautiful NorCal mountains pulling a little gold out of the hills. Not enough for a set of brake pads, but a man can dream... headed down to Carmel today for Laguna Seca tomorrow!

McLaren had some sort of track event at COTA the day before we arrived, full support crews, race prepped cars, slicks a plenty, was neat to see it all.

Having trouble putting the power down. Temps were in the high 30's driving in. Now they are at about 60. Tire psi's are a roller coaster and of course I forget my gauge and hose. Got my track pals got my back.
Woofie is having a great time.

Afternoon sessions should be awesome! It was ~ 70* and dry by 1pm yesterday. Wish I stayed for the whole weekend.

Track is warmed up now and after the tire pressure adjustment, it's gripping better. I'm still slow today though.

Picked up an E92 carbon sunroof delete today - supposedly it "kinda fits" on the E82. We'll see how much epoxy & filler I have to use.
Besides saving ~50 pounds from the highest point of the vehicle... It's a great excuse to justify the racecar owning the garage as it's not quite waterproof anymore ![]()
