CF Gills

CF Gills.

Right side blinker went out, had the CF gills / tinted blinkers from IND sitting in my closet for months, finally motivated to install them.

I couldn't get the stupid things out myself, took it to the bodyshop to unclip from the inside.

Subtle change, but it was the last piece of chrome trim on the car so I'm happy with them.

Especially w/black side gills and kidney grills...yum. Part of me wants to have my ZCP's powder coated gloss black too, but I like being able to go back and forth...

Black hides the details of the wheel unless you're 2 feet away. Gunmetal is the answer.

I feel like gunmetal on grey is too many shades of grey...

I do know what you mean by detail on black wheels gets lost but that's also why I prefer gloss black, as the details show better.

I've had gunmetal wheels on prior grey/charcoal cars and it's OK, but IMHO needs to be offset by polished (lighter) aluminum or black lip or it looks a bit monochrome to me.

I put a new oil cap on because the old one had a tear in the gasket part underneath somehow.

I miss the old one that said BMW Performance on it, this just has an oil can on it.

Eh, I don't really have much to share in introduction. Been mostly lurking around forums and reading up on technical/maintenance topics.

Got the car about a month ago, an AW ZCP '12 with Fox Red interior and sunroof, 40k miles. Got a Blackstone report on the oil that's been in the car for 5k miles before I got the car, it shows good numbers. Couple of weeks after purchase the car threw a code due to a bad brake vacuum pressure sensor, had to replace it.

My future plans for the car are mainly peace-of-mind-related: a clear bra on the front, swapping gears in the TAs, doing rod bearings and motor mounts. Car needs a new evaporator, but it's lower on the list.

Minor items planned are diff and trans fluids, spark plugs.

Winter sucks...

I just finished changing rod bearings, tranny fluid, steering fluid and diff fluid. She should be ready for spring!!!

We used to amuse ourselves in winter with ice racing...

Bet the M3 would be EPIC out there on bolted tires!!!

Replaced spark plugs and popped in the MS stage 2 intake I picked up this weekend. Those rear plugs are definitely a PITA, woke up feeling a bit sore this morning from it. Definitely a smoother engine now, though, coupled with a more guttural intake noise.

Fitted roof racks just to see how I like them. I do.

Now, to powdercoat/polish them and the bike attachments to match my wheels. Stay tuned!

Is that Thule everything or is any bit of it OEM? How are they to install/remove? I'd consider them for a trip, wanted to toss my bike on, or if I was going to the track and needed a place to put some things I don't want in the car. But I'd also want them to come off pretty easy when it comes time to use the car like it was intended
