Do you have a colored band on the O2 connector? From what I heard there is a blue and a yellow one which denotes the different connectors. No idea what it corresponds to though.
I ordered the wrong ones at first as well and returned them to get the right ones. The guy at the parts counter for BMW of south atlanta helped me out big time getting the right parts. He told me to double check all part numbers by googling them and seeing if a picture pops up of the part you need. |

As far as I know all E9x M3s share the same secondary O2 which means they must need the same connector part numbers. So it seems something is awry. P.S. My local BMW dealer was a bit confused as there were a few non descriptive numbers which popped when he was able to locate the part diagram. 3 of the numbers did not match what was posted earlier and one did. They were cheap enough that I ordered one of each of the new part numbers in hope something works. I'll keep everyone posted. |

Those were the part numbers on the bags of parts I got so Im not sure what the issue is. Mine is a 2012 6mt though. Im sorry it didnt work for you, I just know what I used.
But yes, if you find the correct ones please let us know. |

Any long term update to this? Has the CEL stayed off?
And does anyone have the "correct" part numbers?

Yeah I am interested as well... I like the idea of getting rid of the primary cats, but I don't want to tune my car as long as it is under warranty...

You do realize that your ecu uses the O2 to set the afr. I don't agree with anyone moving them out of the exhaust stream or in a position post secondary cat as it will alter the reading

You do realize there are two sets of O2 sensors? We are taking about moving the secondary (downstream) O2 sensors which are NOT used to control the mixture but rather just check for catalyst efficiency. You could disconnect the secondary O2 sensors completely and the car would run just fine (albiet with an SES light and never pass emissions). |

Ok almost 1 year update.
IT DOESNT WORK! About a month ago I got a CEL, secondary o2 reading rich, 02 circuit problems. After discussing it / trying stuff with my tech, the problem is not the wiring or a bad o2 sensor. It looks like the secondary sensor is reading rich, and the signal is not clear back to the computer. This is making it think there is a circuit problem and making it think the primary sensor is bad as well. The sensors are good, and there is no short or bad connection we can find. Clearing the codes works, but the CEL returns after the car is turned off and back on again. Everything seems to point to the computer simply taking this long(almost a full year) to figure out what it was seeing and decide to throw a code. So since once again as no tuner will say their tune maintains o2 sensor readiness, Im putting my stock x-pipe back on so I can pass emissions next month. Its been fun, Im gonna go bang my head against the wall now. |

Thanks for the update. If your state allows 1 readiness monitor to be out and doesn't do smog in the tail pipe, you should pass with a tune. |

There are two secondary o2 sensors so it would be 2 items not in readiness.
Either way, if I cant find a tune that definitively will pass emissions Im not gonna bother spending money on a chip. |

Any updates? I'm still looking for an emissions legal way to get some extra power.. be it HFC or whatever, just needs to pass.

I tried an EVOLVE tune since they say they maintain readiness, well after a month of back and forth with them on other bull crap(seriously horrid communication with them) and still not having the O2's showing readiness I gave up and went back to stock. I honestly dont know if the EVOLVE tune will work or not since the process to get the sensors into readiness after a clear or tune is impossible for me to do without a rolling dyno. My O2's were still not in readiness when I got my emissions done but since in GA you can have one system not ready and still pass I called it a win and left it at that. It more comes down to what is allowed in your state and what you can get away with. |

Sorry to hijack this tread but i wanted to ask what you actually did to your car and how you passed emissions. I'm actually in Georgia also and was looking into some test pipes.

There's someone in another thread claiming that he can go without a cel most of the time with this type of setup. Just has to clear it periodically. Ontario laws I hear are changing to 0 not-ready, like in Cali. |

I have Rogue test pipes and O2 sensor spacers with built in catalyst(regular spacers don't work),no check engine light on for 6 months and all monitors are set with stock tune. They are around $50 on ebay.
