can't wait to see your results and impressions on fit etc. I'm doing this or the ESS as a 10th bday present for my car after I get it inspected next spring. What exhaust is this going with? Mine's going to be coupled to an MPE with like 90,000 miles on it, should be pretty rowdy...lol

Exactly, I don't know why people get off on seeing that something was made by hand. Machines do it perfectly every time, for less money, and much faster.

Possibly, you would have to keep baselining/resetting if you adjust the pressures substantially. Most of these lower-tech TPMS systems don't trigger a warning until you're more than 25% below the baseline, so for my E90 on stock 19s, that means you'd have to be under 30psi.

I never had issues with them going off at the track, but rather, on the drive home because the air pressures were much lower. Oops.

What air compressor is everybody using? My oem broke and was looking to pick up something in the 30 to 50 dollar range such as this:

If you bring any power tools to the track, you might see if you can get a compressor tool from the same company. I have a Ryobi Impact Wrench and they make a compressor that takes the same battery packs and is about the same size as the impact wrench. Once my Harbor Freight 4 in 1 tool breaks down, that's what I'm gonna get.

I added a Viair onboard setup to the front of my trailer.

Wrapped the rear part of the xpipe to protect the bonding agent of the carbon driveshaft. Just near where the xpipe gets near the differential. Not perfect, but pretty decent. I was going to wrap the entire cross section of the pipe forward of the middle bracket, but it would've been way too much material and I wasn't confident it would stay tight.

Risked my life sneaking the bathroom scale out to the garage to weigh car parts...

AFE pipe is 6.6 lbs less than oem pipe.

Still not done with the xpipe... it's three pieces and a bit tricky. I just want it to fit perfect. It's hanging, just needs more massaging. Vids tomorrow!

Bought a used set of m359 in refinished 'black chrome' powder coat. It does not look as glossy as expected but looks pretty sweet!



AD08r were pretty sweet, but hardly used (After 2 sessions?)... here are some pics.



Last (3rd) session was rolling with the instructor -who did not know I had improved brakes/suspension and didn't trust the stopping power of stranger's car- so was basically driving cone-to-cone/point by lap; more nerve racking than normal... oh wells. Only things pushed to the limit on my car was probably my OEM oil cooler and camera batteries!

Overall good first time track experience. Will likely run intermediate next time around!


I accidentally tried to bring the floaties but lost one on the road so removed them.

Something is off with my xpipe install... I flopped the pipes all around in different configurations on the grass before putting it under the car and getting it loosely in place.
Instructions say to install the two parts with cats first, then attach the cross section.... I just don't think that is possible to do given they are slightly different lengths.
Front end of the pipe seems too low and rear end of the pipe seems too high. The mid section can. It be flipped, the catted sections won't allow it. Any ideas?
The mount near the DCT is also 1" above the mount, and it does not want to be manipulated- it's pretty solid.

As silly as it sounds... any chance it's left and right specific? Not much experience with the parts in question but I've come across that type of nonsense before.

Yes, and it is on the car in the correct configuration. The "left" side (according to the instructions) is on the driver's side.

I had the same problem with my RPI xpipe, except I wasn't even able to get it hooked up. But it seems connected well enough without it. Haven't had any problems in however many thousand miles since I installed. Pretty sure it's just bad aftermarket design.

Can't always expect perfection, I guess. I left that mount hanging. It doesn't come in contact with anything, and isn't really significant.
Went for a drive and the car is definitely more lively. Sound is great. I got the resonated version and there is no rasp (I didn't want any). No exhaust smell, but my check engine light is on. I hope it goes off once everything is broken in. The light came on when I did my carbon driveshaft, so I think it might do it every time the sensors are disconnected for a minute. Went off by its self last time as well. AFE says this system will not trip he SES light.
