Yes sir. I wanted wider wheels because I was thinking ahead to when I may be running 295's. I think they might help with the 275's a bit as well. No real rubbing.

I would think the sensors would go off anyways when you air down to be at correct pressure when at temperature.
I also don't know what the long-term effects of heat cycling TPMS sensors is but I'm sure it takes a little life out of them.
Plus it's just more crap to buy.

I picked up a tried and true wheel setup:

ARC-8 18x10 ET25
Will run these with 275/35/18 tyres

For the E92 and had a question with respect to suspension and brake kits that fit.

Suspension: I noticed many owners with the same setup I just ordered will also run spacers, I see 10mm is common. This question may play into the next question but are the spacers required in order to avoid rubbing or other issues at full wheel lock? Or is it for looks? Or is it because....

Brakes: I have my eye on the set of brembo club racing kit for the front. Also the PFC kit(cheaper and just as capable I believe). The brake vendors offer downloadable templates to ensure fitment of the upgraded kit under your wheels. Is this the reason some owners of my setup buy spacers?

This is same wheel/color combo I order last month for mid may delivery. Hopefully my batch set is also on the way!

I was a little doubtful but looking at your pictures I'm sold on my color decision. My lady is AlpineWhite- should look cool.

i think a lot of the track guys run 5mm actually... and you're right on your speculations. the top of the tire can hit the bottom of the strut spring perch, or make contact with a brake caliper... depends on your brakes and suspension. generally, people don't have an issue with the arc-8's in the 10" width with suspension, but caliper clearance can be an issue depending on your choice.

in general, a 275 on a 10.5 will be faster than a 275 on a 10 . For some of the fast tires out there a 255 is considered "optimized" on a 10, yeah no curb protection, but as little wasted flex/motion (and therefore heat buildup) in the sidewalls and shoulders as achievable. Take a look at the 255's on 9's on the M3/4 and you'll see what I mean, there's still quite a bit of rubber hanging out in space when the tire takes a side load

Anecdote alert: For a long time (and still) SCCA tries in some classes to limit cornering speeds for balance of performance between cars by wheel width rather than tire width because you could go ahead and throw as much tire as you want at an 8" wheel or whatever and it wouldn't go much faster, you might gain hundredths or a tenth or two, but not big chunks of time like a wider wheel supporting that same tire can buy you

My 18x10 ARC8's barely clear my StopTech ST60's up front so I'd definitely contact APEX and inquire about those other kits before purchasing. A spacer won't help in this case since it's the clearance of the barrel with the caliper.

Suspension can definitely be an issue depending on how low you go and what kit you're using. I only have a few millimeters of clearance on my setup with F14 19x10 +19 wheels with 275/30/19 PSS with KW clubsport coilovers. See attached pic for reference.

Yeah, I was a little doubtful myself. I was actually rooting for the gold finish during their initial special finish group buy, but those never actually became available. But the matte bronze really looks stunning. They'll be beautiful with your Alpine White paint. I'll try to get more pictures tonight.

My suspension is Ohlins R/T at standard settings (preload, etc) which puts me at 20mm lower than OEM. So nothing too aggressive.

I'm leaning more toward PFCs kit which I see is very common around here and I shouldn't have any trouble with fitment + Arc8

The brembo club series kit I dont see any owners with arc8. In speaking with raceTechnologies, the brembo distributor, the rep mentioned he knows ec7 wheels have better/more clearance space but again

Sounds like I have some homework to do once I have the wheels on hand!

This is why I got the EC7 instead of the ARC8; Apex claims the EC7 clears all brake kits in common use.

I have the PFC bbk with 18x10 Apex Arc 8. No issues with clearance. I run KW clubsport with 5mm spacer on 275/35/18 NT01. You will be fine.

I'm already going to the HRE show on Saturday and it's been kind of a thing I do with a friend that has become a tradition.

For reference, my E90M ran a 1:11.2 at this track on RS3's on 18x10's with stock springs. You'll want to fast forwrd to the times I'm not just running at the front because I don't have my rear camera running yet

19 minute mark, started taking the inside line to prevent the pass exiting the bowl/entering the compound. was wondering why neither of you were doing that until then. haha

It's a track day, but between sessions you walk among the vendors and look at stuff. I dig it.

It's Saturday and Sunday. Sat is the bimmer challenge and when the whole forum goes, Sunday is a little less.
