It always costs more to go from stage 1 to stage 2 than to buy stage 2 at the start. I have yet to complain about too much power so I generally recommend buying the higher performing kit if you are into power. I have been down this road on my E36M3, starting with a stage 1 centrifugal kit adding 50% more power and now having a turbo system adding over 200% more power.

Harrop told me last week they are testing Stage II at the track. News about it will be posted at tvsm3.com. This is great!

Shame on me. On hiway a new Honda Accord jumped in front of me and signaled friendly to floor it. I downed to 3rd and floored it and hell broke loose while the AA screamed and it concrete pounding bass resonated across all lanes. Dammit, I couldn't real him in until it was getting insane and a shift to fourth pulled pass.
I am disappointed that the distance didn't change much for awhile. I am sure he feels he put it on me with all the racket going on like NASCAR behind him as he made no noise. I hope this blower is quieter because I don't want to claim a win with a poster pointing under my hood indicating all out mods! |

From Harrop last night:
"The noise will be potentially increased if anything as it will the stage 2 kit will spin the supercharger faster to create more boost". |

Well, a stage 2 will likely be badass enough to hold it down against most so the sound may fit it well. Flip flop.

Spoke with Harrop today. Eager to bring Stage II to market... as soon as there is news I promise to post it up.
My car has been at the body shop for the last month undergoing a full restoration - I am excited to test stage II and E85 in the future but will need to look into upgraded pumps and larger injectors. |

Markert Motorwerks is highly recommended and we can set you up with them. There is also another competent shop called Technica Motorsports as well. Depends where on the east coast - if you email/PM your zip code I can look into this for you. Thanks!

Has anyone else with a DCT experienced belt chirp between the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts? It seems the abrupt RPM change from the quick DCT gearshift causes a belt deceleration chirp. Happens during regular/lightly spirited driving, shifting around 3500-4000.
I'm thinking it may be time to replace the belt, but I haven't noticed any belt slippage during accelerations.

We advise checking the belts and the tensioner. The tensioner on our manual car was making noise and replaced it, although we weren't experiencing any belt slippage. |

What kind of noise would the tensioner make?

Have you guys considered using a refrigerant liquid-to-liquid intercooling system like a Killerchiller or Inter-Chiller system? I use it on my S5 with its tiny TVS R1320 blower pushing 23-24psi and it's been a boon for IAT control. I'm normally 15-18*F below ambient temps around town, and when I ring it out on a multi-gear run from 0-125 mph my IAT's only reach 130*F if that, in 90*F + ambient heat in Florida. Previously before the liquid-to-liquid refrigerant system, my IAT's were 10-20*F above ambient and 175-185*F was not uncommon to see on a 0-125mph run, reducing ignition advancement in each gear.
Basically instead of the s/c-loop fluids going to a front mount Hx, it goes into a chamber that is liquid cooled by freon. Actual s/c-loop fluid temps are about 40-45*F coming out and then it flows into the s/c intercoolers on the PD blower. Lots of guys running Eaton or other PD blowers on Camaro's, CTS-V, ZR-1, Mustang, run it...even the Dodge Demon has an OEM variant of it. Last edited by spool twice; 07-04-2017 at 10:32 AM.. |
