SO is the 7842398 software version what indicates it's at 240E? My software version shows 7846409. Is there a table of DME versions/releases somewhere or is it more complex than that? If it's out there, I haven't been able to find the right Google query.

All E9X chassis M3's have the MSS60 DME, The software you have will depend on which integration level of ISTA-P was used to program it last. Most tuners will 1st update the car to 240E software and then have you load the tune file. I know ESS did when I tuned my 08.

OK. I found a thread on integration levels and versions.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797020 and in one of the last messages Mike says: "Yes 7854317 is 241E" so it appears there is some correlation. I just managed to get INPA running late last night. It looks like I can use some other tools to get the integration version. I need to go see what else I downloaded (that isn't malware) that might show something that matches up with that thread. |

Found it. Googling on "Integration Levels" gave me a lot more to go on. Thanks for the pointer. If I'm using Tool32 correctly I'm getting E89X-11-03-502 which appears to be 200E. Given the build date and service history I have that seems about right. Now I guess I need to research how to update.
