Strange noise from E92 M3 engine

I know that video diagnostics is like magic, but anyway maybe someone had the same trouble.
What we have:
2010' E92 M3 with stock bearings and 100k km on odometer.
Strange sound that could be heard from right front wheel and beneath the car.
!!! Sound becomes active only at fully warmed up (oil temperature meant here) engine !!! Also it's mostly not directly from engine, but mostly from front part of the engine, where chains and belts are located.
Computer diagnostics says that everything is ok. Compression in all cylinders is ok and exactly the same. Oil change gives nothing.

So I'd be very thankful for any advice or opinion...

I've had this damn noise for a year now. The dealer retorqued the bed plate and that helped for a few days but it's right back again. No idea what it comes from, and everybody here says it's normal and forget it lol.

**Shrugs** All I know is that it didn't make this noise before, and then it started last year sometime.

Small update about this issue:
After 700 km trip + 3 days of hardcore track action - those strange sound disappeared
Now engine works as smooth as before and no ugly sounds from it.

This is the same god damn noise everyone has and it frustrates the shit out of me. It is not rod bearings. I've changed mine and the noise is still there to this day under the following condition.......
1-Car at operating temp.
2-Ambient temp hotter than 80 degrees F
3-only present at low RPM or light load.

The car does not seem to have any performance issues other than sounding like a piece of shit. This is what kills me every time I hear it because I pamper my E92 M3.

Mine is much louder than that with upgraded bearings. For me its usually loudest after an oil change then slowly goes away as the oil wears down.

That’s the same noise I have on my 2013 zcp with 14500km. Noise only noticeable at idle after car is warmed and at slow speeds under 30km/hr. Would valve cleaner help?

Hate to revive on old thread, but I have this exact issue - only happens after my car is warm and been driven, then I'll turn it off, then I'll turn it back on, and it occurs. Has anyone come up with an answer?

I've been told it's the lifters, too. It's super annoying, but I had it before and after RB switch (and bearings weren't even that worn), so hard to think it is RBs.

I just had this same issue and user Kaiv recommended Liqui Moly Ceratec to address lifter tick. I've now used the product and the problem has not yet recurred, but I haven't fully tested the car via a long drive in hot weather. I'll do so this weekend, but so far so good.

So I've not experianced such a ticking noise on my M3 at idle, I've noticed that after the initial rumble and noise from when it's sitting on my batt tender for weeks, initally I'll hear a tick plus the chain chatter until oil has circulated well, then it purs pretty quite. Now as far as a lifter tick, my other beater, 99 Ford explorer, at times with a cold start, the lifter ticks pretty good. As soon as the oil gets to operating temp, the noise is gone. I've always heard that a ticking lifter isn't much of an issue once the oil gets warmed up. But if under acceleration load, the ticking gets louder or to the point you can feel the ticking, that is a problem.

One way to try and pinpoint where it's coming from is while at idle, use a hearing scope or use a long extention and put it up to your ear, the sound (vibrations) will be more acute and you can pinpoint where on the engine it's coming from. May help point you in the right directin. Hope it's not a serious issue.

Don't want to scare you because it's almost certainly not this, but my engine that had main #1 and rod #1 fail made this exact sound. Best place I could hear it through the breaker bar was on the PS belt tensioner bracket and the belt off, FWIW. I had tons of sparkle in my oil at that point though... so if you don't have that I'd wager you're okay. Definitely curious as mine absolutely sounded bottom end or at the very least coming from the lower timing chain area but I never looked further. I'll report back if my Carbahn engine makes the same noise.

Good thing about our oil filters is they are easy to slice open and take a close look. Hopefully it’ll be clear of any particles.
