Ugh I cant seem to get heel toe..lol, I feel my feet are too big and I dont have enough space to use the side of the foot, so I just throttle blip and I hit the clutch.

put the entire ball of your foot on the brake and try twisting your leg (conventional way) vs using the side of your foot then. either that or you'll have to put minimum foot on the right side of the brake pedal.

Any tips on removing the carpet and some pics. I'm about to rip mine out but any pointers on the center console removal would help.

Have you seen the dry ice technique for removing adhesive and sound deadening material?

I'm on my phone. YouTube it. You're basically super cooling the material, causing it to contract, become brittle, and fall off.

If you want to go complete nuts, this place does sort of the same thing. Different purpose, but ok sure it will work the same.
I was reading about it on rennlist. Guys using it as a non-chemical way of cleaning up their cars.

Heat gun and an a scraper works so much better. Then get a gallon of goof off at Lowes or Home Depot NOT goo gone. The adhesives will wipe off almost instantly. I saved over 50 pounds removing the paper mat and tar mat sound deadening by just doing rear section. I'm removing the front carpet at some point this summer

I used both dry ice and a heat gun. Both worked well, heat gun left a bit of residue. Dry ice works well on any flat surfaces that don't have any seam sealer below the panel. If you use dry ice, crush it in the bucket, then mix in isopropyl alcohol, then spread it out on the panel. Wait for it to cool, then start chipping at the panel.

For center console, I'm not sure about the E9x, on the E46 it's just a couple bolts and the whole thing comes out.

I just got the car detailed too because chuckwalla dirt was still in after 3 track days haha... i love driving on Volk's. these will obviously get destroyed with brake dust but its okay..

You probably need to remove the dash and HVAC unit.

Passenger side done. I'm cutting seams into the carpet and it all slides out without having to remove every little last thing.

One thing I'll leave is the built in pocket for the temp sensor. I'm just guessing that's what it is because theres one in the front and one in the rear vents.

Having fun at the track this weekend!

Extremely wet day yesterday and it finally happened, after four years in this hobby I had my first spin and off. Humbling moment and thanks to the cautious drivers behind me for giving space.
