Depending on how the seat needs to be aligned - sliders, no sliders, side mount location, etc - swapping seats might be a PITA. I've made so many adjustments to make sure it's properly aligned in the seat tunnel and so much headache with it I will never swap seats again. YMMV but I got sick of it real quick lol.

I take it that since you track the car often you will be used to sitting upright and that it's actually more comfortable than gangsta lean street driving - I know it is for me.

There may be no point in swapping seats out if the Cobras you are getting are pretty comfy. I have SPG which is a good balance of comfy and track duty (now looking at Halo seats dammit) so it fit the bill. Sometimes for street driving I just slide the seat back a little for a little more comfort. I would test the seat and see how you like it.

Thanks for the insight, much appreciated! I was afraid there might be a lot of small adjustments that weren't easy to replicate. Will definitely talk to Vorshlag more and think this through before locking in. And good point on sitting upright also, I am used to it and prefer to be much more upright than I used to. Long term plan is to add another DD but don't want to do that all at once. I also want see what it's like driving fully harnessed first before I buy another DD. I have QFP's already but it's not the same.

Good advice on testing seats out also, plan to walk around the paddock and do that at my next event.

Now that I think about it - since I have that bridge now it's much easier to align and just pop everything in place since I know where all the pieces would fit. Just mark the 4 holes where the sliders should be mounted and done. I'd also mark lines along the base of the car so you know that everything is square. That was another pain. Just making sure everything as a unit was facing the proper direction since there is some play when bolting things down.

Also note that I'm a sedan so the anchor for the seat belt was a bolt directly into the seat. I think yours is a loop slid into the piping (??? what do you call this???) behind the seat so that takes one piece of the puzzle out of the equation at least.

Good tip on marking things up and correct, for the 'lower outer seatbelt anchor points' on the coupe, they are not attached to the seat like in the sedan. The 'lower inner seatbelt anchor points' do need to attach to the seat, same as the sedan. I really think a custom bracket could be beneficial for me in what I am trying to do, very slight additional cost and I would need to drive to Dallas to visit Vorshlag which I'm okay with.

the anchor is a little post that bolts under the rear torx bolt and another one behind it right? maybe that cjan just stay fixed.

Just went and test fitted seats today. I was set on Recaro SPG XL's until i sat in Sparco EVO II's.. definitely walk around and sit in as many as you can... I'm most likely going to go with the Sparco's now.

Did a 1:57.397 today at Buttonwillow. Awesome. Redpriest did a 1:58.4 beat in my prior pb. So glad I pb'd or he wouldn't have let me hear the end of it. Will post vid soon.

I have to say I am a JRZ believer now. Cannot believe that a suspension change has dropped almost 4 seconds from my lap time. I can take corners and berms far more aggressively without upsetting the balance of the car. The car powers out of corners unbelievably with more grip than you thought possible.

From difficult 2:02 laps to consistent 1:58-1:59 laps has made a believer out of me. I'm sure I'll get even better with more experience and tuning on the car. Used 9 front compression, and 8 rear compression with 16/14 rebound split clicks from soft on the second day.

It's also unbelievable how comfortable the ride is off the track once you set it up for comfort. It rides better than stock!!! What is this sorcery?

hehe now put on a real tire like a TD or an R1S and you'll drop another 2-4 seconds right off the bat---probably see a 1:55 on your first day with them. That's not tempting at all is it?

Great news. I was debating coil overs and someone posted a set of JRZ RS 2WNR for $2400. Seems like he was in a hurry to sell them because he wanted to upgrade to the reservoir model but had to make a decision quickly. That price was too good to pass up so I bought them. They should be on my car in time for Buttonwillow on 1/21.

I've used R1 and it is incredibly consistent and highly predictable. It felt like a street tire just with way, way more grip

I also felt the 275 R1 was a bit too wide for the 10", so now I have some 10.5s. Will likely run those tires during the 2017 season

Edit: until the tires corded they were fantastic, and they took a while. This season I'll do more tests

The R1 is a good choice. Fast enough and lasts a long time = Value.

That might be a little too hardcore for me at the moment, LOL - thinking of Hankook Z214s next, or trying out RE-71R again. Want to get perfect car control, or Aero, before I go to TDs.
