Don't hate. The man does strong work, and the GTS flash is just awesome.

Yes, in theory, it should cause more wear.

DCT may work slightly harder but the rest of the car is benefitting from the smoother shifts. (And of course your joints)...

Before this update I never drove the car in "D" mode cause the car acted like it had its own agenda while in lower gear, now I'm not opposed to it cause it acts more civilized at low speeds.

Now to see what updating the engine from 190E to 241E might do...

I don't think there's enough information to determine that. It could be such an improvement in operation that it actually reduces wear.

Regardless, I will certainly be updating my DCT to this version.

Hoping to get a used 2010 E92 M3 with Evolve and DCT tune soon. Not sure what the car's base software.
How do I know what's my base software and if I get my local BMW dealer to flash me the latest 240e , will I need to get Evolve to send me a new file for this?

Thinking of getting this aggressive GTS coding... I've had my 2011 e90 zcp for about two months and sometimes around town I really dislike the DCT transmission... car feels sluggish... taking off from start there is definitely a lag (specially when the car is cold)... there is a slag when backing up as well. Is this service still available?

Didnt' get mine from Alex, but, I can say with the GTS Flash, the DCT Transmission is heavily improved!

If you feel its sluggish and lagging its not the GTS DCT flash you need but the ECU update, and Stage 1 ECU Tune (map to 91 or above octane).

DCT update fixes the ridiculous stock bucking effect at lower gears.

Honestly, you should just do both though.Very improved drive from stock which at times is frustrating.

It is available, just reach out to Alex or check his website.

This is odd, mines never been acting like that (2nd box due to dealer mistake). Understand the US of some reason get a different SW version but frustrating if that makes the product worse.
However, I do wait for the cold cycle to end as there is definitely more initual clutch slip otherwise.

Yes, there will be a tuned map file.

Alex is easy to work with and can give you customized maps. I have no experience with Evolve but chances are it is very similar (just more expensive).

Have the GTS tune and upgraded M dynamic mode as well. Awesome...

With regards to wear, I would think the slower clutch grab would be harder on clutch life than a faster one.

From what I can tell after about 10k miles with the software update, S4 grabs like S5 used to, so I just use S4 driving around town and S5 when I'm going M mode balls out. The rev match is also more aggressive. My guess would be any extra wear would probably only be expected in S5 when it's grabbing super hard. Barks the tires 1-2 and 2-3.

Thats exactly the same settings I use. Local roads S4 and until oil is at optimal temp, S5/M-mode once car is warmed up and I can break free of traffic on highway. (Although with the ECU tune it kicked it up another notch.)

Dinan is running 50% off for tunes. Is that better than GTS tune? Or is it an compliment on top of GTS tune?

I'd be shocked if the Dinan DCT software(or any other, really) was anything other than a GTS file with maybe a slight adjustment to the shift time.
