Bluetooth connected iPhone starts playing when turn off car

I have this annoying issue with my iPhone 6 connected to my 2011.5 M3 for Bluetooth audio. The phone connects but I usually have the radio off, thus whatever is on the phone is paused. But whenever I turn off my car, the phone unpauses itself and starts blasting music through its speakers. Not the biggest problem in the world but its very annoying especially when getting out of the car late at night, and having to dig into my pocket to quickly pause the phone. Does this happen to anyone else and is there a work around? My aftermarket Kinivo Bluetooth unit in my 135i didnt do this with the same phone.

I just updated the cars software with the latest update UPD01008.bin from bmw.com/update and this still did not resolve the issue! iPhone still starts playing music on its own when I turn the car off while the music was paused.

When you pause the audio, are you pausing it on the phone or from the car?

The audio is paused from the car, with the Audio button (like how you would turn off the radio) and there is the speaker icon with the slash through it on the iDrive top bar. This of course pauses the music on the connected iPhone.

I am not with my car right now but I will try this and let you know.
Just to be sure you

Connect your phone not by the USB cable but Bluetooth.
You have set the settings in the cic to Bluetooth music streaming.
You have the radio off during driving
When you hit the stop button (motor) in the car the motor stops and the phone starts playing music

I will give it a try and let you know.

Last thing, are you on the latest (and greatest(yeah right)) software from Apple?
Since the last apple update I have quite some annoying things in my phone that I didn't had before.

I'm not experiencing any problems streaming with the Pandora app from my iPhone 6 to my 2011.5 M3.
Yeah since my original post i updated my iPhone 6 to iOS10, hoping it might resolve my issue but nope. I still have this issue and yes it even starts playing from the Music app when disconnecting if I was using that instead of soundcloud. But i also now have new issues where the car upon turning on and connecting always starts playing a random song from the Music app library rather than soundcloud even if I had soundcloud open before turning on the car. Also the iDrive screen will continue to display the Music app song even after switching to soundcloud and playing a song on there
